Impeccable timing as always

I am supposed to go away for my first girls' weekend this weekend. It would be my first overnight trip away from E.

E had a runny nose and cough that started this past weekend.  I took her to the pedi on Mon but only could see the Nurse Practitioner who told me she probably had a touch of a virus. Well, she got worse. I took her back in this morning and she has pneumonia and an ear infection. Seriously!?! How does it develop so quickly!?! (or is the NP just an idiot?)

Either way, I'll be staying home this weekend. I was apprehensive about going with E healthy. With her being sick, there's no way I could go and have fun.

Poop balls.

  • Well Crap.  I'm sorry she's feeling so sick :(

Right before Christmas A had a few sniffles and a super low grade temperature one night, the next day temp of 102, double ear infection, and a bronchial virus.  It happened so quickly.

It seems like the viruses this year are crazy strong.  I hope she gets to feeling better, I wouldn't be able to leave either!

  • Did they do a chest Xray or just a diagnosis based on symptoms/auscultation?
  • Boooo!! For both.

Her pedi just listened to her lungs.  He could hear rattling in both her upper and lower lungs.

ETA: just realized this makes it sound like she has two sets of lungs...hee hee hee. I mean in her upper and lower lobes of her lungs (one pair.) Wink

  • Poor girl and mommy.  I hope she gets well soon.  It's not easy having a sick child :(

  • Maybe it happened for a reason. I don't know if I was really ready to leave her overnight yet.

  • A few weeks ago, DD kept spiking a random fever. Finally, I got called from daycare and she had a fever of 103. I called the pedi and made an appointment, but I also thought she would just have a virus. She had pneumonia. After that, while she was on antibiotics, She ended up with an ear infection that she had no symptoms for and she ruptured an ear drum. It was rough. Good luck with it.
  • Ugh. So lame. I hope E feels better soon and I hope your DH give you a make up weekend for your girls.
  • Sorry!

Hee hee, you said poop balls.
