Breastfeeding

migraine help

hi ladies,  I have a 13.5 month old daughter, and she breastfeeds roughly twice a day.  I have a lovely migraine, and i don't get them often.  I bought Excedrin Migraine, but am not sure if I can actually take it or not.  I have a call into my hospitals lactation dept. but have yet to hear back.  Any idea if i can take this?

Re: migraine help

  • Excedrin has Aspirin in it, and that is not recommended when pregnant or bf'ing.

I would take Tylenol and drink something with caffeine.

  • Tylenol and a coke is my go to with a migraine followed by lots of water.
  • No excedrin, sorry. I took sumatriptan (generic Imitrex) when I had a migraine. Hope it gets better soon!

This what I do or I take advile.  My doc said non of the scripts were allowed while breastfeeding.  I am not sure about Immetrex as mentioned by the PP because that one never worked for me pre-kids
