Every 3 hrs...

Do some of your lo's still wake up every 3 hrs or so? Are they still eating then too? i can't be alone right?! :) aaah tired this morning!

Re: Every 3 hrs...

  • Yep, since 4.5 months DS has been up at least every 3 hours. He's been too distracted during the day to eat well. Plus for about a month he'd be awake for an hour or two practicing crawling! Now that he's mastered crawling he's going back down easier, but he still wakes to eat every few hours. I'm tired, too!

I've been laying down while DS naps, sometimes I sleep, sometimes I just rest. I don't get anything done, but I don't care anymore!

  • Sometimes more - sometimes less :)  This morning she had to have a bm so she kept on waking up.  Finally, when I stopped being so lazy/sleepy and got up to take her she went and was much better :)

  • Yes! DD gained 2 lbs in less than a month. She is eating like a maniac!

  • Yes, but she's starting to slow down. My pedi said not to feed her during what should be asleep hours. He suggested to offer her a little water if other soothing mechanisms don't work. My dd use to wake 2 to 3 hours after her bedtime, which is 8. I don't offer her milk, rather some back pats, rocking her, or water. If none of that works, she goes in her crib, and she gets to, GASP, cio. Since implementing this new procedure, as of about 2 weeks, she hardly wakes up at 11. She still does get a bottle at around 3 though. I'm trying to gently and slowly ease her into not thinking she needs to eat so often during sleeping hours.

  • Yep, still every 2 hours until this weekend when it FINALLY went to every 3 hours.  I hope we can stick with 3 hours, its a great improvement.  Haven't had more than 2.5 hours of continuous sleep since June!  He's definitely hungry, and he's gained only a few ounces in the last 3 months (he's healthy just lean and active) so I just keep feeding him. Our freezer stash is running out in the next 2 weeks  and I can't pump any more than I am so he is having his first bottle of formula today with DH as a trial while I am at work.  I'm a little sad about that but secretly hoping he loves it and it helps the situation! Is that terrible?

  • NOT terrible! You must be exhausted and I can say that if I were in your shoes, DS probably would have gotten formula months ago! Good job mama!
