Not teething - viral infection :(

So what we thought was teething with Layla was actually a viral infection in her gums. Today when she stopped eating and her gums were bleeding we called the Ped's office and got her in this afternoon. Unfortunately it's too late to give her the meds for it b/c she's had it since Saturday. We did get a prescription for if it happens again to have on hand, the doc said it's basically a cold sore on her gums (she has one on her tongue as well). She's miserable at night, not too bad during the day except she'll only eat a few things, right now yogurt, jello, puffs, milk and oatmeal. :/ Poor pumpkin!!     Poor, poor sweet baby.  That looks horrible to have.  I'm sorry, I hope that this passes soon Sad

    Poor Layla :(  I'm glad you gave the information, because I think a lot of us wouldn't think twice that our children were just teething.

    I get sores sometimes when I get certain things like strep. Both kids and I had strep a few months ago and I had them so bad I didn't eat for like a week. The first day I was in tears even drinking water. I don't know if its the exact same thing but I know for me cold things or frozen drinks are the easiest to eat.
