Is anyone feeling their MS at its "best" at night?
I have not yet vomited (only at 7 weeks now) but my nausea is constant through the day - eating a small snack about every 2 hours helps. I get home from work so exhausted and feeling so quesy. From 7 to 9:30 I just curl up hoping it will go away.
Saturday, I couldn't eat anything but some saltines. Sunday, I ate normal dinner (eggplant parm) and felt awful. Monday, I had one small taco and then was ravenous a half hour later. I ate another then felt sick. Yesterday, I finally had DH just go out and get me a bagel. I was finally able to stay awake after 9! I want to eat as nutritiously as I can and also feel I should eat dinner to help from me feeling sick first think in the morning but the idea of cooking just has me turned off. I feel especially bad because I am often the cook in the household and DH needs to eat too, ya know?
I took out chicken this morning to defrost and I'm dreading the thought of cooking it and have a feeling that it just will make me feel awful. Am I psyching myself out?
Re: Dinner (Nightly MS)
Maybe it would be good for your MS to get the dinner in a crockpot before you leave for work? That way when you get home you don't have to deal with all of that. I have been using my crock pot constantly the past few weeks because I get MS in the afternoon/evening.
Don't worry too much about nutrition right now, just eat whatever you think you can eat to make sure you are getting enough food.
I try to help out but DH has pretty much taken over dinner prep duties. Just like he did when I was pregnant with DD.
i lost 15 pounds before I started gaining with DD and am already down 5 this time- primarily because I can rarely stomach dinner.
It'll pass. With DD it was somewhere around 16 weeks.

I'm in the same boat. I have all day MS and dinner is particularly hard for me to stomach. DH has been great and we have been sticking to small light meals. Even then it doesn't take long for me to feel awful but I seem to get a bit more in this way.
Meat is the biggest problem around dinners at the moment too. I just can't stand it. Cooking it, or eating it. Maybe try some lighter, meat free dishes and see how you go?
I am totally with you. I pick up my DS5, get home and simply can't cook dinner. The smell of opening the fridge is even too much. I've been eating whatever sounds good at the time- PBJ sandwich or whatever I can. I know it isn't the best, but I'll focus on more nutrition when I am not constantly sick, for now just trying to get some food in me.
Don't be afraid to ask for help. I felt guilty because by the time I get home from work with my 5yo, it is 6pm and DH isn't home until 7:30pm. I have to feed DS, but don't want him eating junk (lunchables etc.). I had my mom make us some meals she brought over that I just heat up for my son (and DH can fend for himself when he gets home). I am the cook in our house, so not cooking has been hard for my boys!
My m/s is just all day, it can be worse at night. I am on zofran 2x a day already and still sick.
Exactly! I eat a bowl of cereal in the morning (sometimes a few saltines right when I wake up to get me through my shower) then I snack on some granola two hours later, then some more crackers, lunch (I'm trying to throw in fruit for this meal at least!), a granola bar two hours later.... then dinner comes and I feel absolutely discouraged.
I'm in the same boat as you. I have nausea all day but it's intolerable at night and it's when I throw up. The only dinner I have managed to keep down lately is some crackers, a few spoonfuls of noodle soup, and sometimes a piece of toast. It's awful.
I've tried everything. B6 vitamins, eating small snacks, ginger ale, sea bands. Nothing works. I think I'm going to be heading towards the Zofran if this doesn't end soon.
And like you, I can't even be near the kitchen let alone cook anything. Now even my husbands cologne makes me ill :-/
I just keep reminding myself that I'm blessed to be pregnant no matter how miserable my tummy is at the moment.

I hear you on the cologne bit - my husband keeps laughing at my new "spidey sense" of smell. I was on a flight last week and someone ordered tomato juice about 7 rows ahead of me. I could smell it like it was under my nose. Anything that strong is bound to make me feel sick.
