Back pain

I just started experiencing back pain this last week. It sucks. It hurts from my shoulders down to my butt. Any suggestions on how to deal with it? I have been really good about walking just about every day and don't want to have to give it up just yet because of this.

  • I'm having lower back/hip pain, and the only thing that works for me is icing the **** out of it.  Yes, I am walking around with an ice pack down the back of my maternity pants...

  • I feel your pain. I have a lower spine injury, so the back pain associated with pregnancy is intensified by 1000% lately.

     Try to be aware of your posture, as hard as it i right now. Stand straight if you can and avoid the sway back as much as possible.

    When you are sitting, try to sit as straight as possible as well. 

    Sleep with a pillow wedged in between your legs

    When you are at your desk, try to keep your feet elevated if possible. Really anytime you are sitting, try to keep your feet elevated.

    Don't overdo it with the exercise, but keep up the walking.

    Try some pregnancy yoga and easy stretches. It has been helpful for me.

  • I've been using a maternity belt. My OB also gave me stretches to do. The one I found that helps the most is getting on hands and knees and arching your back like a cat.
