Re: Wednesday Community Check-In

  • My update is my siggy and the u/s on Monday that I posted about on the pregnancy thread. Basically, we're ecstatic that our little one is alive and measuring right on track. It feels real now and we're planning on telling family during our West coast road trip that begins next week.

QOTD: C is amazing recently with taking care of me during my recent cold (she had it the week before) and while I've been having evening fatigue and nausea. She's totally understanding of my need to rest and cut back on some household stuff and she's picked up the slack. She also checks in with me regularly to see if I need anything and does a lot of little things like bringing me water, vitamins, etc. She shows her love for me by giving me random little hugs and making me laugh even when I'm not feeling like it.

  • I've been updating all over today -- seems like the DOR, TTTC, and TTC weekly threads I follow all seem to update Wednesdays!

That said -- I have an update!  H. and I just finished our immigration application for her and I'm sending it off this afternoon!!!  HURRAY!!!   It was a huge package that took forever for us to pull together, so it feels SO good to have it done!

QOTD:  I currently have 2 favourite things that let me know H. loves me, but I can't say they're my most favourite ever, that changes depending on what's going on for us.

     1.  H. makes me lunch most days to take to work.  This is HUGE for me because before her 90% of the time I would either buy lunch, or eat something that wasn't very well balanced.  Now I get nutritious, tasty food at work and my life is better for it!

    2.   She is an excellent cuddler, and we have two favourite cuddling positions that just fill me up with love :)

  • My wife does so many things to show she loves me each day.  I really am spoiled.  But one of my favorite things she does is lay out her clothes each night and gets ready in the downstairs bathroom so that she doesn't wake me up.  Her alarm goes off and she immediately gets up and quietly leaves our room.  She gets up very early and knows that I am not a morning person.

  • We've had a rough week getting back into a routine in the evenings with homework. Night before last was exceptionally "special" and ended with 1 child scribbling all over his math homework, me writing a note to his teacher re: his temper tantrum, and him getting a talking to/re-do at school. Thankfully, last night was much better and we've reestablished some expectations for the evenings which will hopefully help.

  • For my update, see my L&D thread as it's too much to type again here.  We are all ok though!

QOTD:  Wow it's hard to pic one thing.  The think I would have to go with is M will rub my back at night if I am having problems following asleep.   As sleep is so hard now it makes me so happy that she is willing to do this as it keeps her up longer and she has to be awake two hours before me.
