Jillian Michaels just kicked my arse

So, one of my New Year's resolutions (like millions of others each year) is to lose weight and get into shape. I have quite a bit to lose, and it is well overdue. I bought JM's 30 Day Shred DVD before getting pregnant with DD. Two weeks into working out with it, I found out I was pregnant. So, my workouts fell by the wayside (is that how that saying goes?) and now I am getting back into it so I can be in shape for DD and myself, but also to feel comfortable trying for LO#2. Man, oh man... I am so out of shape. Yikes! One day at a time. Is anyone in the same boat?

  • I feel your pain. I lost 30lb after DS was born and would like to lose more. I went to yoga for the first time in almost a year on Saturday. I was so sore on Sunday. Good luck

  • 30DS is a great workout. I was surprised how sore I was after doing that for a few days.

    I tried it a couple years ago and while I think I liked the workout okay, I have bad/weak knees and IIRC, I think I quit because I tweaked my knee doing it.  :/ Now, it was probably user error and bad form, but still.  If I can screw up my knee with it, you might be able to screw up your hip.  Or try it and just be careful.  :)  GL!

  • Thanks! I never considered that poor form could be the culprit. I really want to do this workout so maybe I'll give it a try and take it easy

  • Not so much trying to lose weight, but my abs are shot from so much.  I have a 3-6 month moratorium on TTC since I had such a late 1st trimester loss.  Once I get cleared to exercise again I need to find a good ab workout.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

  • I'm not sad that my 30DS DVD fell behind the built in cabinets.  That is a hard workout and I would just get angry at JM!

    I'm joining a gym next week.  I'm doing a 1 month free membership to see if it is feasible for me to keep up with.  With our work schedules I won't be able to go until 8:30-9pm and I need to make sure I can do that before commiting to a membership. If not, my Walk Off the Pounds DVDs will have to do.

  • I wanted to check in on this thread and see how those who are working out to this are doing. 

    Graceful - have you kept up with this?  Have you noticed any results?

    I saw that the 3 levels are on Youtube so I might try this.  I'm under pre-baby weight but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to being comfortable in my skin.  Ucky tummy needs some attention. 

    Who all is doing this? 

    Ps.  I'm with Mbgreenwalt - I have a feeling that I will be sending JM hate letters after the first day.  At least she isn't Denise Austin.
