The only thing my kid will eat..

is cottage cheese and grapes.

I wonder if she is as bored as I am of the stuff I have been buying.

So...

What is your toddlers "go-to" snack?

Re: The only thing my kid will eat..

  • We are bored too. She's taken a liking to orange slices lately. She also had jello for the first time this week. Oh, and raisins.
  • Loading the player...
  • Thinly sliced carrot sticks with ranch dressing or hummus.

    Bananas.

    Hard-boiled eggs.

    Apples.

    Cuties.

Thinly sliced celery sticks with ranch dressing or hummus.

Fruit leather -- watermelon, grape, mango, strawberry.

At my parents' or the ILs' they enjoy crackers of any kind, cheese, yogurt, but we don't keep those things in the house.

  • I forgot about dipping. She will eat anything that she can dip. Ranch, guacamole, soup, cream cheese and jam.

There are no go-to snacks in our house.

That's because DD eats everything. She is all about food.

We are very fortunate. I hope she never becomes picky.

She used to eat SO well! Which is why I am frustrated. I have not been able to get her to eat meat in almost 4-5 months. She used to love chicken, now, it gets smushed.

  • I did find that she loves cuties, but they give her an insane diaper rash.

The few things she is sensitive to she loves. =[ Blueberries, cuties, oranges, raspberries, egg yolk, and raisins.

  • I agree with dipping. DS wouldn't eat any meat or veggies until we started dipping. He's even been happy simply dipping carrots in carrot pur?e.

Here's our snack list. Recently yogurt covered raisins are his favorite.

Fruit (berries, clementines, apples, bananas, peaches, pears), Vegetables (carrots cut thin, cucumbers, peppers), Yogurt, Cheese stick (mozzarella or cheddar), Goldfish, Cheese itz, Graham cracker, Teddy Graham's, Peanut butter crackers (pedi approved at 1 due to no family allergies), Animal cracker, Fruit rope (gerber or clifs), dried fruit (Crasins, pomegranates, etc but limited due to sugar), Raisins (plain or yogurt covered), Nutragrain bar

  • DD likes plain rice cakes with cream cheese on them (or just plain).  That's on top of what has already been suggested.

    What the heck are "cuties"?

I am in the exact same boat. I have not been able to get Max to eat meat in months. He used to love everything, now it's a small list of things:

apple sauce and variations of it

    yoghourt

    crackers

    peanut butter, jam

    cereal in milk

corn on the cob (yay a vegetable)

Any fruit, especially kiwis, clementines, apples, blueberries, watermelon

    He will drink V8, shockingly!

He ate great at my inlaws over the holidays. He ate chicken, ribs and salmon. Things he will not TOUCH at my house. It drove me crazy! Why would he eat well there and not at home? He also tends to snack better at playgroups!

    What the heck are "cuties"?

They are Mandarin oranges. That is the brand that sells them in the US. I know in Canada they are just sold as Mandarins but here they are sold by California Cuties brand so everyone calls them cuties.

Huh. You learn something new every day!

Doll, my vote also goes to dips. The "dip" doesn't actually even have to be one. You try to let her dip in applesauce, for instance.

  • DD is another one that pretty much eats anything in general.

But for snacks (things I'll let her carry around the house in a cup or bowl since they're not too messy) we usually do the following:

    String cheese  (separated into shreds)

    Apple slices

Grapes cut in half (only when the dog isn't around)

    Goldfish

    Cheerios

    Mini whole wheat crackers

Cheez-Its and mini pretzels (she likes the Party Mix variety)

    Blueberries

  • We go through phases of favorites...

    -cheese in any form

    -goldfish or teddy grahams

-many fruits (cuties, bananas, apples cut in small chunks, grapes, watermelon, strawberries)

    -PB on crackers

    -applesauce

    -cottage cheese

    -yogurt

I haven't tried many raw veggies yet so am thinking I will give carrots a try based on what a lot of you said. DD also loves anything she can dip in something.

  • Oranges, bananas, strawberries, pears, apples, grapes, raisins, annies cracker, cheese sticks, yogurt, squeeze pouches.....

my kid also eats anything, so I'm no help. If anything I have issues with her wanting to eat all.the.time.

  • Right now, DS goes crazy for edamame and grapefruit. He also loves the squeezable fruit and yogurt pouches. I think the Earth's Best are still on sale at BRU for 20 for $20. It's so frustrating when one day they can't get enough of something, and then the next they act like you are trying to poison them. I have so many bulk packs from BJs to try and save money, I am sure one day DS will again love the foods he used to.

It usually tastes better to him if it comes off my plate/fork.

  • We tried dipping with chicken tonight...

Only ended up smearing ranch and mustard through her hair....GROSS.

She did eat a slice of cucumber and a piece of carrot!

  • Taking note of these things for my picky eater as well.  He's doing a little better the last couple of days, but when he refuses food,  our go-to list includes...

Craisins/Raisins, Nutragrain Bars, AppleSauce (usually the as with strawberries or blueberries),  yogurt,  graham crackers,  baby (gerber) crackers, and huge amounts of whole cows milk

  • DS is a graham cracker ADDICT. Every five seconds, he says "crack" (meaning cracker - it used to be "gock," but he says it so often he can almost say "cracker" now. Sigh...)

    Yogurt is usually a winner.

Cuties, but for some reason, he wouldn't eat the Cuties my MIL bought - they were a lot bigger (and didn't taste the same) as the Cuties I bought in Hawaii. They give him funky poop, though, so I haven't given him one for awhile.

Bananas (only for breakfast, though, or it messes with his poop habits)

Peanut butter sandwiches are usually good (no crust, though)

    Peas
