Evening all,
so, I've been on WW, probably a half a dozen times. The first few times I had motivation. With age and PCOS, came a much defeated me on the programs. It seemed like i couldnt lose weight consistently enough. I'm thinking of rejoining again, despite my lack of success. My thinking is, I need the accountability of weighin in in front of someone to keep me honest.
If losing weight is key to my fertility, I really need help to get this weight off effectively. Not sure if that requires high protein or a whole food approach or a low calorie diet, etc...
Re: Contemplating returning to Weight Watchers...
I just returned to weight watchers after having the similar prior experiences as you. This time I also have a personal trainer and have been working out more. I've lost almost twenty pounds.
Using both the trainer and WW has really helped make the difference.
I did WW when I started my weight loss two years ago and it was a major help! I lost 30 lbs in the first ix months. Give it a go if you need that accountability- I think it's worth it!
Good luck!
I think if you are dealing with PCOS and insulin resistance you might need a different approach than weight watchers which is carb heavy. I'm a little biased though because weight watchers and calorie counting never worked for me.
I would look into seeing a registered dietician that specializes in PCOS or look at a diet that is more compatible to PCOS and hormone regulation like Atkins, South Beach (though I personally think it is too low-fat) or Paleo. Here is a diet success story that I thought was motivating. (sorry, chrome won't let me make it clicky)

Thanks for the responses! I took everything into consideration and have joined WW and scheduled a nutrition appt. WW is great because you can eat how you see fit. I can hone in on the simply filling technique to get more of a paleo way of eating if the nutritionist deems that a great plan for taking off the weight. The WW meetings are ood because it keeps me onset to get on the scale regularly.
Hopefully, I'll have great success or maybe I'll actually get pregnant straight away! Wishful thinking.
