road trip funny

First, we made it safely to our final destination. I'm pretty sure my sanity is going to take awhile to recover, but at least we're here, right? RIGHT? (Two days of travel with DS have left me a bit on edge.)

But my funny story: I stopped at a semi-sketchy gas station in a small town to fill-up and make a pit-stop. The only restroom was the employee restroom, which also served as their cleaning chemical storage closet. So imagine (please imagine yourself and not me) trying to go to the bathroom in a semi-yucky gas station bathroom, while yelling at LO every five seconds not to touch anything since there is a lovely shelf filled with all sorts of heavy duty cleaning chemicals in every color. Oh...and then LO decides to sit on the bathroom floor.

Sigh...So glad to be done with small town and rest stop bathrooms for awhile.

  • Yucky! I had something like thatbwhen we drove from Ontario to NS when Mich was 6 weeks old. I had to change her on the floor of a small gas station bathroom. Thank goodness I had a change pad and a spit up blanket. To lay her on.

  • Glad you survived it!

Incidentally, we are looking to move to a town even smaller than our current one. One of the first things I noticed was that the very first thing you see (and one of the only businesses) is a Love's truck stop. Gah!!

  • Oh gross!  I was generally not a fan of public restrooms before DD was born, and now I really despise them.  Some of the changing stations...::shudder::

Glad you survived, good luck house hunting!

I forgot about that part - luckily, he was just wet and I managed to change him while he stood up.
