Baltimore City Daycare Provider HELP!

I am a new mommy looking for full-time daycare starting in August 2013. I've done some comparison shopping and a lot of centers in the area are just too expensive! I live in Federal Hill but work in Canton. We would be open to anything in the Canton, Fells Point, Locust Point or Federal Hill area. My husband works in Hanover, so anything around there is good too!

Additionally, are there any suggestions for nannies around the area?

We are keeping our options open but I'm starting to stress about this! Any help is appreciated!

  • I have a friend who uses the Childtime center in Hanover. I know it's expensive, but everything around here is crazy expensive!

  • I am in the same situation.  I live in Federal Hill and work in East Baltimore and am in need of child care starting June/July.  We actually ended up setting up daycare services outside of the city in Pikesville.  It's not ideal but the cost is slightly more manageable.  Good luck.

  • There is a daycare center at the federal building in Hopkins Plaza.  It's pricey but we were very impressed by it (there were no openings when we looked).  There is also a Bright Horizons at Silo Point per their website which tend to be excellent centers but again, pricey.  If you want a center it is going to be hard to find for a reasonable price in the city unfortunately.
