DH brought home some boxes of Gerber rice cereal and Gerber oatmeal that are still sealed in plastic a co worker of his doesn't want them. K won't be using this for a while as she is not even 6 weeks yet. My question is, do you think its ok to use past the "best by" date? A few of the boxes are already past and the others will be past by the time she is old enough to use them.

I'm a little lenient on these things when it comes to myself and DH, but not when it comes to DD.

I would return it and get fresh boxes when Lo can eat it. The risk of it upsetting DS stomach is not worth it to me.

I'd chuck it. It's cheap and I don't have much interest in feeding expired food to my kid.

I'd eat it, but that's another story
