I am so excited to announce I'm expecting baby #2. We have been throwing around ideas how to tell out extended family and friends (Our parents already know) I have a 15 month old who loves to play with books. i was thinking of having her hold my "what to expect when your expecting" book like she's reading it. And post/send out the picture. Do you think people will understand? Or am I totally over thinking and should just tell everyone on my own?
Re: Announcement idea?
I agree w/PPs, I wouldn't really get it.
Another (similar) idea would be to have it be a big sister book.
(Edited because I realized you said "her" not "his.")
This is how I told my husband. I got a big sister book and had my daughter bring it over to him to read to her. I taped a picture of the positive test inside, although I don't think that's necessary for a family announcement.
It is going to be rather tough to get a 15 month old to hold a book that big at angle where the title will be clear in a picture.
If you want to go the book route, maybe get a book about being a big sister? I think that is what I will end up doing to tell at least one side of the family, maybe both. For FB I'm going to use the row of shoes idea with a caption about growing by 2 feet. Its been done a million times before, but I think it is cute.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
This is what we did w/family.
I don't think I would get the What to Expect pic as I'd just think it was a random book.
My son's announcement shirt says, "I'm not Lion! Xander is going to be a big brother!" It has a picture of 2 little lions on it.
here is our announcement - first scan said july so thats what we went by last scan said beginning August
