Stop carrying Extra clothing?

When do you stop carrying the spare outfit for your kids? I just got a new diaper bag in preparation for DD3 and realized that DD1 NEVER uses her spare but I'm scared to not carry it! I have one outfit per older child and a pair of pajamas each.

Edited to add: DD1 has been potty-trained for over a year now and hasn't had an accident in for-ev-er.

  • I feel like you just jinxed yourself!  :)  I still carry a spare outfit for my little one and an extra pair of panties and leggings for the older one.  I always have another extra outfit for both in my trunk.

  • I don't remember when I stopped carrying extra clothes for DD, maybe around a year? But you could probably put together a little emergency bag for the trunk so you don't have to carry all that with you at once.

  • We actually only carried a spare change of clothes for about a year for DD.  We hardly ever carry a change of clothes for DS who is now 4.  Unless we will be out the whole day.  It just got to be too much to lug around and we hardly ever needed it.

  • I don't carry a change of clothes for either of my girls - which has now just jinxed it :) DD1 has been potty trained for about 6 or 7 months and has never had an accident away from home, so I don't usually worry about needing extra for her. I keep planning to toss a set of clothes for each in the trunk just in case, but haven't done it yet.

  • Each of my big boys have a little book bag in the car that stays in there. Ds1 hasn't used the clothes in forever but I still keep them in there's just in case. The only things in the diaper bag I carry is ds3 stuff and diapers for ds2.

  • I don't carry spares if I'm only going ot be gone for a short period of time.

If we'Re alking abotu an all-day outing, then I bring one set of spare for each of th egirls.

My oldest has also been potty trained for a year now, and hasn't had an accident in a looooong time ::knock on wood::, but I figure better safe than sorry. Plus kids seem to find the most unexpected ways to ruin their clothes anyways ;)

ETA: I don't carry a set of clothes AND pj's, though. It's one or the other.
