I have now become the Baby Shower etiquette enforcer in my family! My SIL is expecting her 3rd child (first with her FI), and it's his 5th. She had full showers for the first two. A friend of hers messaged me to say "It's time to start planning her shower!" I checked with my SIL to see how she felt about it (not thrilled but didn't want to hurt her friend's feelings), then I had to craft a tactful response to "Uhhh... I don't think this is such a good idea..." Anyway, I'm glad this board exists so that I know enough to try to steer this towards a ladies brunch or meet the baby. Hopefully the friend isn't offended- I tried to be really nice about it. The point is- thanks, ladies!
Re: Thanks, Baby Shower Board!
That's what we are here for! And I think that is the first time that I have ever seen a "thank you." We usually get "you don't know my lyfe/family!" "You are all such mean know it all biotches!!!"
You are very welcome OP!
Sheesh. Sorry you are dealing with this. Some people don't like etiquette when it spoils their plans.
Hang in there.
This. You were only trying to help her avoid looking like an idiot. Guess she doesn't care.
