Pregnant after 35

Feel pregnant?

I apparently have selective memory. At what point do you start to feel "different"? More than just sore boobs I can't remember when I started to feel pregnant. 2nd trimester?

Re: Feel pregnant?

  • I felt "different" when the nausea and fatigue hit me like a ton of bricks at 7 1/2 weeks. I'm nearly 11 weeks now and it still doesn't feel real.

  • I feel hungover. Which reminds me constantly that I am still pregnant, so I am thankful for that constant reassurance!

  • Other than the constant nausea and acid reflux (which I never had before) I started to feel different when I popped around 20-21 weeks.  I woke up one morning and my bump was clearly visible and getting in the way.

  • Yup, its the nausea that helped me finally feel pregnant. Then when I stopped feeling sick all the time I worried. I'm back to feeling sick and bone tired all day. While its a PITA I'm happy to feel pregnant! lol

  • It was definitely when my clothes made me feel claustrophobic and I had to switch to maternity wear. So roughly around the 19wk mark.

  • I've had symptoms the whole time.  I started to show early too. I'm at 20 weeks now and am still really exhausted.
  • Symptom wise I only feel more exhausted when I get home from work, like I could nap, and I am definitely urinating more often. Other than that, no symptoms and I definitely do not "feel" pregnant. I do have a lot of non-baby things I'm stressing over, so that may be why. Hoping when I have my 1st u/s in two weeks and I get to see baby, hear HB, it will feel more real!

  • I felt different around 20 weeks.  When I could fell the bare bits of movement and couldn't comfortably wear regular clothes all day long (had to switch into baggy sweatpants as soon as I got home from work).

  • This was my second IVF and the first one failed.  I started to feel different about 3 or 4 days after my 5 day transfer.  I told DH that I had a summer cold because it was too difficult to believe that I was really pregnant.  At about 7 days post transfer, I sat and cried for 4 hours because my parents and siblings did not send me a birthday card.  By 11 days post transfer, I "knew" that I was pregnant but was too scared to take a test.

Every trimester now brings on new feelings and symptoms.

  • Even with multiple ultrasounds during my first 19 weeks...I really didn't 'feel' pregnant until I started feeling the baby move around and kick.

    Most amazing feeling ever!

Edited:  Let me clarify--up until feeling the baby move I simply felt like crap.  Like a REALLY bad hang-over all the time.   The 2nd & 3rd trimesters were definitely better:)

  • I felt pregnant during the first trimester.  I was too tired sometimes to even shave my legs, and had to start canceling seeing friends, and start taking naps.  Plus I was nauseated all day long.  My breasts stayed sore for a long time, and doubled in size.  Now that I'm 20 wks +, I'm still exhausted but it's not quite as bad.  The nausea has left, which is nice.  I find that crave things I never usually eat like pop tarts and fruit juice.  It's frustrating, since I normally eat really healthy foods.  Plus my belly has gotten a lot bigger.  It's hard to not feel pregnant when your belly starts getting in the way!
