birthday party invite question

I'm having a small birthday party at our house with some friends for dd.

We're inviting some friends from the neighborhood as well as 2 of my other friends and their kiddos.  It's a Friday morning, so I know the dads will be at work - the moms are all either home that day from work or SAHM's.  The moms are invited as well, and I figure at this age, its probably assumed that they are, but should I note it some where on the invite?

Also, do I address the envelope to the kids or to the family (knowing that the dads won't be there because of work?) - for the life of me I can't remember what I did last year!

Re: birthday party invite question

  • Address it to the family.  You don't have to write anything re moms being invited.  At this age, they will stay.

This! It's definitely assumed the parents will be staying since the kids are so young.

  • I addressed the envelopes to the child(ren) and their parents

  • I addressed my DD's bday party invite to the mom and the child. I didn't invite dad's either to keep numbers down... I invited 25 three year olds. Wish me luck! (and a glass of wine afterwards, LOL!)
