~*~ 2nd Tri Check-In ~*~

Good morning, ladies and Happy New Year!

First of all, I would like to begin with an apology. I intended to do the check-ins over the holidays on a slightly modified schedule, but I was without internet for almost two weeks! I had a power strip fry my phone and laptop charger and I had to wait until yesterday to get a new phone and to return to school to get a new charger. Let me tell you, even with the chaos of the holidays, being without the internet and a phone is rough! Sorry I have been so out of touch!

Anyway, with all this time now passed, I am really looking forward to seeing some updates!! As always, please let me know if this is your first post or if you are moving onto 3rd tri and need to be removed.

Finally, a big welcome to YankeeNavyWife, bry238, phishgirl29, kathrynlo and notquiteblushing for joining the check-in!

QOTW:

1. As always, keep us updated with any Team Pink/Team Blue announcements and any upcoming appointments and milestones!

2. Did you or will you consider either a "babymoon," a "push present" or both? What are you and your partner considering?

  • QOTW:

    1. As always, keep us updated with any Team Pink/Team Blue announcements and any upcoming appointments and milestones!

OK, I finally have a bunch of updates this time! We had our 20 week a/s on December 26 and it sucked. The technician wasn't very nice, the bed was like a stretcher with nowhere to put my arms and the room was freezing cold. Worst of all, she was unable to determine the gender. :( We scheduled an elective u/s at a beautiful place nearby and it was the best experience ever! Not only could the tech tell the gender right away, but the u/s suite was beautiful with a full projection screen of the scan, a comfy bed and couch for DH and a DVD and lots of pictures. Anyway, we found out that we are TEAM BLUE!! We are so excited for little Charley!

    2. Did you or will you consider either a "babymoon," a "push present" or both? What are you and your partner considering?

We weren't really considering it, but we recently decided, somewhat on a whim, to finally go to Phillies Spring Training in Clearwater, FL in March! I will be just about 7 months at that point, but we have always wanted to go and we are really looking forward to it. As far as the "push present," DH has never heard of it! I don't really care, but a few friends and family members are trying to coach him to do something! LOL!

  • This is my first post over here! I'm due July 11!

    QOTW:

    1. I have an appointment on Monday which is just my regular monthly, but I need to push my OB to find a solution to my passing out. I've passed out 3 times in the past 2 months, and I've had several other times where I felt like I was going to, but was able to lay down at home. This past weekend I passed out in line at Chipotle and fell and hit my head pretty hard. I had this before getting pregnant, but it's definitely gotten worse. At this point, my concern is that if my brain isn't getting oxygen, neither is the baby. Hopefully they can find something to help.

    2.  I would love a push present, but I doubt it will be anything big (if anything at all). Honestly, I really, truly just want a healthy baby. As for a babymoon, we're going to a wedding in Texas in March and we're driving, so we'll be gone a week. That's probably all we're doing!

That's so scary! I hope they can find the solution soon!

    QOTW:

    1. I've been feeling more movement lately from both boys, which is exciting! My MFM appointment is on Monday and I can't wait to see them again! We also picked out nursery furniture, which my ILs have graciously offered to pay for :)

    2. No babymoon, we can't afford to go anywhere big and I can't imagine a road trip with my bladder! I don't really want to take time off work anyway when I need to be saving my PTO for potential bedrest / extended maternity leave. I told DH about the push gift because he had no clue, LOL. The boys will be born close-ish to my 30th birthday, so it might be a combo push/bday gift, like a nice watch :)

Qotw: we're going to see swan lake ... Not really a Babymoon, but its a special treat about a month before delivery.

  • Happy new year everyone!

Update: All of our nursery furniture is ordered and will be arriving over the next month or so, we also are having it painted next week! It's all very exciting. I was diagnosed with a wierd musculo-skeletal condition after my pubic bone was giving me bad pain last week, I have to wear a pelvic cradle and start PT this week - I'm not even in 3rd tri and the fun already begins! I'll probably check in here once or twice more before heading that way.

QOTW: We are going to NYC the first weekend in March to visit friends and spoil ourselves, but that's just a short drive away. No big babymoon plans. As for a push present, I don't know that I'll be getting one but I have no objections if DH wants to spoil me with something! :) I would like to get a necklace or bracelet with baby's intital sometime after she is born, so maybe I'll treat myself to a push rpesent!

  • Hi everyone! I had a few appointments over the holidays. I had my 16w appointment on Dec. 26th where my official due date was moved to June 10th (can you please update that?) based on measurements from my NT scan. I then had a cervix on Jan. 3rd at 17w3d, and the nurse said since I was so close to 18w she could do the A/S then, she just might not be able to get all the pictures she needs. Basically she said, do you want to know the sex or not?! Of course, I did! Cervix is long and closed and measuring longer than my first check at 13w (thank goodness) and the A/S went great! LO was measuring right on target with my 6/10 due date and weighed in at 7 oz. We also found out we are Team Pink!!!!! I can't believe we will be having a little girl in June! Since DH wasn't able to be with me at that appointment, the tech decided that she would put that she was not able to get all the pictures of the heart she needed so we could come back with DH for another u/s and cervix check. That appointment is the 15th.

QOTW: We will not be doing a babymoon. I am trying to save as much PTO as possible for extended maternity leave, or if I had to go on bed rest. We are also trying to pay down our debt as agressively as possible so that's where all our money is going. As far as a push present, I don't even think DH knows what that is. But I do have something in mind if he asks. Its a ring that will have little girl's first and middle name on it, as well as her birth date.

  • Update: We are officially team BLUE (can you please update on the list?) and are very excited about it!  Still working on picking out names but we have a list of ones going right now.  We are headed up to PBK this weekend to officially choose the furniture for the nursery.  I'm almost positive about what I want, but I want to see it in person before we order it.  IL's have graciously offered to pay for it so that is a huge deal for us.  I have been finalizing the research for our registry and will be starting that very soon.  In not so great news, I need to find a new OB as mine is leaving the practice.  Not exactly what I wanted to be doing on top of everything else, but I have some suggestions from friends so I am going to start making some calls today.

QOTW: I would love to go on some big extravagant babymoon but, as a teacher, it is impossible to get flights anywhere warm for February vacation that aren't thousands of dollars!  We may do a local play and a night at the hotel where our wedding was sometime in early spring.  I have already demanded a push present, jk!  I have definitely let H know about it and I think he is planning on something, although I don't know what yet.  The little guy is due 2 days before Mother's Day so I think it will be a combo present.

  • Hi ladies!!

I've been feeling baby move for over 2 weeks now. Feels like little muscle spasms. Has definitely gotten stronger in the past week and I've gotten a few good thumps here and there. DH was even able to feel one this past weekend! That was awesome!

My next OB appointment is this coming Monday. We will have our A/S and hopefully find out if we're team pink or blue!!! I can't wait for that!!!!!

I always forget QOTW!!! Anyway, I told DH that if he was going to be so kind as to get me a push present, I would like a bracelet with his, mine, and the baby's birthstones. Something I can add to as we God willing, have more children!

Have a great rest of the day everyone!!!!

  • 1. We had an appointment last week. Baby girl's heart rate was just fine and they were pleased with my weight gain, lack of swelling, etc. This was our first appointment without an ultrasound they've spoiled us which kinda stunk but now that I can feel her moving I'm not a nervous wreck. My next appointment is at 28 weeks and I'll do the GD one hour test then, and we'll have our 4D U/S. Then starts our appointments being every two weeks!

    2. We had a pseudobaby moon back in first tri. We may try to go somewhere closer to time, but nowhere super fun. As for a push present, DH is all about it being a trip. We'll see...

  • I think I got deleted off the list by accident.. I'm due june 29th 2013 and I'm having my next OB appointment the 15th so hopefully we will find out gender

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Update: looks like I never mentioned that I am having girls : anyway I had fetal surgery for TTTS in December andboth girls are doing well so far : At 22w 6d they were measuring 1.1lb and 1.5lb each. I am starting appts at 2week intervals with my ob now. The mfm I am still seeing weekly, but I think next week they will space out again.

We don't plan on babymooning at all, too much going on. I have major lifting restrictions anyway, so not gonna happen. As for push presents, I don't think so. Mother's day and our anniversary is in May, so that's fine. We don't generally gift each other a lot.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!

  • I had my 24 (24 and 5 days) week appointment today. It was a little weird. They are in a brand new huge facility with other specialties now. My RE is now on the bottom floor and my OB is on the 2nd floor. So it is weird because they were all in a small office together. It seemed very spread out. But today was only their 2nd day there, which is why I couldn't go last week.

Anyway, my blood pressure and measurements were all good. Heart rates were 150 and 144 which is normal for both. He scheduled another u/s for 1/28 to check growth, fluid, etc and Brandon's cord. My next OB appointment is 1/30. So 3 weeks instead of 4. I also have my glucose test which he said I could do next Friday since I'm off. They do a 2 hour glucose test. Don't most of you do a 1 hour and then if you fail do a 3 hour?

Overall, he has no real concerns at this time. I'm feeling good, everything looks good and he said to just call if anything changes. :)

We will not have a babymoon.  I probably won't be able to travel very soon and I probably won't get a push present.  I will probably be on bed rest and have a c/s.
  • Please add me to the list....my ticker is not correct and based on my NT scan results I'm 14 weeks 4 days today.  I'm pregnant with Twins though and Dr said more likely around June 15(Dr wont let me go more then 37 weeks).

Nt scan turned out great....hoping to feel better this week and that naseua goes away.  Suppose to have a Dr apt this Thursday but dr cancelled it : ( due to death in family.

I have a close friend that's a OBGYN that's going to scan me at 16 weeks and tell us Gender....not that long! Yeah!

As for a Push gift....I'd love to get a necklace and maybe a small baby moon!

  • Update:  due date is 6/9/13. Baby was causing a ton of cramping last weekend (cervix pain) so I had an emergency ultrasound Monday and baby was so uncooperative but I didn't care!  Everything was fine and my cervix was 3.5 so crisis averted!  Even though the baby didn't show us the goods, I'm still excited to wait until 21 weeks and be there with DH when we find out!

No baby moon for us that I can see, but who knows.  We're big go away for the weekend people so I could see a couple of those happening in the next 4 months or so, but no flying that I can predict.

  • I am 21 weeks this week. My next appt is next week with my MFM and hopefully Baby Boy will cooperate this time and get us a good look at his heart and face. He has a posterior placenta and likes to face my back. Baby girl looked good at my last a/s. I am starting to feel them squirm and move, though not big enough for kicks.

QOTW: I am saving up my vacation to use during maternity leave so no baby moon for us. I'm not expecting a push present either, healthy babies would be the biggest gift.

  • 21 weeks here, how did that happen so fast! :)  I booked a photography session for when they are first born and in the next couple of weeks we'll be touring a couple of daycares.  It's starting to feel real (and being able to feel them wiggle is certainly contributing)!

QOTW:  We visited DH's family in Mexico over the holidays, as we always do.  I wouldn't necessarily say that spending a week and a half at my MIL's house counts as a babymoon, but we did take a couple of days just the 2 of us at the end of the trip and went to the beach.  The beach part was wonderful.

As for a push present, my babies are all I need or want.

  • Nothing much new here. Next appt. and the first of our pg classes begins next week.  Will probably be asked to re-take the GTT to check numbers around then also; which I'm not looking forward to.  Oh! Finally swapped my regular wardrobe for some maternity clothing today. Should've done it sooner -- the pants are so much more comfy!!

Given the fact that we're on a really limited income right now (DH is out of work), I don't think we'll be going on a babymoon or buying push gifts.  But I do think both are really thoughtful and great ideas.

  • 1. As always, keep us updated with any Team Pink/Team Blue announcements and any upcoming appointments and milestones!

Well, I had my glucose screening this morning and failed. My number was 156 for the 1hr. Unfortunately, I wasn't told whether to fast or not, so I chose better safe than sorry and fasted. Well, when I found out I didn't have to and was already nauseated (It had been nearly 12hrs since I ate last) I ate a few handfulls of sunflower seeds before the drink. I'm really hoping that is the reason that I failed, but with PCOS and my little man's aversion to sugar since the beginning of my pregnancy, having GD wouldn't really be too surprising. I have my 3hr test in 2wks at my next appt. Here's hoping that turns out better! On a lighter note... depending on when the next check-in is, this is possibly my last 2nd Tri Check-in! I can't believe that I'm only a week or so away from 3rd Tri. The time is flying by now.

    2. Did you or will you consider either a "babymoon," a "push present" or both? What are you and your partner considering?

With DH working all the time and our budget being tight, we may not be able to have a babymoon. I really think it would do the both of us a lot of good, so I'm keeping my hopes up a little and if nothing else looking to possibly stay one night at the beach or something for a little get-away for a couple of days. As for a push present, I'd like to but again the budget comes into play. Of course, I know DH really will consider our son as the greatest gift he could ever get while being there with me through the labor. He's been such an amazing man throughout my pregnancy and has a lot more patience with me than I have for myself.

  • 1. As always, keep us updated with any Team Pink/Team Blue announcements and any upcoming appointments and milestones!

I  had my echocardiogram (they consider it standard protocol with me being a twin, IVF pregnancy) and it went awesome. Both girls have good, strong hearts, and are growing right on track. Tomorrow is V-day for me and I think it's the most exciting milestone yet! DH and I can't believe it's all going so fast, and we're just so grateful that everything has been going so well.

    2. Did you or will you consider either a "babymoon," a "push present" or both? What are you and your partner considering?

I doubt we'll do a babymoon,  but I have been hinting to him about a push present. I mean, I'm so excited that I'm gonna be a mom and I love being pregnant, but I definitely think that after the months of hormones and injections and whatnot, then having m/s til almost 20 weeks, carrying twins, etc. I deserve a little something. Smile

Skylar Elena and Hollyn Isabella... our two beautiful blessings arrived April 18, 2013!

  • We are expecting a girl baby, and are very excited. We have our big a/s next Friday.

QOTW- I really want to take a mini-babymoon somewhere for a long weekend, but I am afraid to go very far, and I can't think of anywhere nearby that doesn't involve hot tubs, snowboarding, or other activities I can't/don't want to do. Hopefully I will come across a good idea! I doubt DH will be doing a push present, unless take-out counts. :)
