We live in a tri-/multi-level house with way too many stairs. The main floor has steps leading up to the bedrooms right next to the stairs down to the entry - and both have banisters/rails and not solid walls.
We registered for this bad boy - but I think this is going to eat up a lot of our already small living room.
Does anyone have a baby gate that works well on stairs w/ banisters and doesn?t require drilling into the banisters - or have some other sort of fix that won't break the bank?? TIA!!!
ETA - tried to make clicky - sorry. . .
Re: "banister" baby gate recs please??

I saw this one in store when I was there last. Maybe it would work for you if you bought one for each set of steps?

Awesome - thanks for the input. I don't know how I missed that - I honestly never even thought of using zip ties to make mounting a pressure-secured gate (or plexi-glass) to the banisters possible . . . .great ideas!!!
Thanks so much ladies - and if anyone's got other tips - keep them coming!!!

We bought something similar to this, by Kidco:

Kidco also sells an adapter that doesn't require drilling into the banister. Same idea, it comes with a long piece of wood and zip ties, that allow you to zip tie the wood to the banister, and then you drill into the wood instead of the banister. Pressure mounted gates are not recommended for the top of stairs, so you want a "top of stair" gate that is mounted instead.

This is what we have. It works really well. You do not want to use a tension mounted gate at the top of stairs.
