Can we please have another favorite toy post? I need ideas. I figure it's good timing, too, to see what toys from Christmas are getting the most action in your home. I feel like G is bored with many of her toys, and I didn't buy her many gifts for the holiday. I might need to pony up and get her something new.
Re: Favorite toys?
So far B's favorite thing from Christmas is the play thermometer that came in his Critter Clinic. He walks around the house going, "temperature? temperature?" until he finds the thermometer. Then he walks around with it stuck in his armpit until he finally declares himself 'sick' or 'healthy.' It's pretty cute.
Like msualum's R, he's also really into vehicles - trucks (big, fire, garbage), construction vehicles, tractors, trains, etc. He absolutely adores his Duplo tractor-trailer that he got for his birthday. I did take away the pitchfork because he's started mouthing things again. And he loves the Lil Wheelies cars. He's acquired a bunch now, and he lines them up one behind the other and pushes them around as if they're a choo-choo train.

His toy story bowling set. We are obsessed with balls here so this is a new way for him to play. He drags out the little buzz rug and gives me the pins to set up. He then rolls the ball yelling "almost" when he misses and " awesome" when he hits the pins.
We also have the FP zoo and school bus and tons of animals that he likes to play with and work on imagination. We have a vtech and leap pad laptop that are our new car toys.
At our house we love all things trains. They got a train table and extra trains and pieces- so we do A LOT of playing with the train. We also love our matchbox cars, Mr. Potato Head, and the chalkboard that I had mounted on the wall.
A forever favorite here is Mega blocks and puzzles.
I have a simple pleasures kid. The big hits from Christmas are the play-doh & matchbox cars from his stocking.
He also likes the fire truck Grandma gave him for his birthday.
We've been having more parties with his stuffed animals - he makes cakes for them out of blocks and has them blow out the candles.
I think DS' favorites are his trains, tracks, and table, his ball pit (a baby pool with balls in it), and play food. The train stuff and play food were birthday gifts, so who knows when the novelty will wear out, but the ball pit has been a fave since before he turned 1.
The tea set has been the biggest hit from the Christmas/birthday bonanza.
Other favorites seem to be: more Duplos, a tool set, Melissa and Doug felt sandwich making set, and the Little People Farm.

Sound like G needs a pony OP! LOL
C's current favorite toy is , no kidding, a chapstick, but that probably wasn't what you were looking for.
The couple things that he got for his birthday that we've played a lot with are his wooden track set (just tracks and train cars, no space for the table), a tool set with a "working" saw thing, and his duplo blocks. DH and I really like the blocks and train set too since we can all play together. Other than that, C loves art so we do crayons, watercolors, and do-a-dot paints (best thing ever) a lot.
Anything K picks up. j/k...kind of
Trains. He doesn't even need the tracks - he just lines them all up and pushes/pulls them around.
These "Take and Play" sets are great:

They pack up small and you can build them together as you get more sets. The tracks fold up, instead of being separate pieces.
DS is still pretty obsessed with cars and trucks. I didn't realize how many he had until he created a parking lot the other day. Wow, we have a lot of cars and trucks, and that's still his number one thing.
Other than that, I think his favorite Christmas gift was his wooden easel from Ikea. He draws on that frequently throughout the day, and I don't have to worry about getting him paper for it and whatnot.
His dress-me doll has been getting more play lately too. When we gave it to him a couple months ago, he didn't play with him much, but lately, he's been carrying him around and talking to him, and he brings his doll into his play tent to read and watch movies with him. (So cute!!!)
G got a leap frog toy lap top kind of thing that he still pulls out and plays with.
