Re: First Birthdays...

  • I haven't really started planning yet, but I have thought about it... then H brought it up that we need to start planning it this weekend...

I am thinking a sock monkey theme, but also pretty low key... maybe 15 people (which would be grandparents, great grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins (he only has 2, so not that many) and his god parents...

  • Yes I love party planing! We will only invite close family but that's still 7 kids and 13ish adults. I've decided Lucas's first will Spot the dog, all yellows and browns. A late afternoon party with no real meal just finger foods that will all match the color or dog theme.

My oldest turns 9 later that month and his will be angry birds with a lunch a pizza that looks like an angry bird and bad piggies in a blanket and angry deviled eggs. All reds and bright green and black.

    I'm so excited!!

  • ugh how do you get the list down so small???  we are looking at 53 people (including 9 kids most babies tho) - and this is mostly family and about 10 friends!  this doesn't even count her day care friends!

and beginning of May sucks cuz it could be cold so I don't think we'd plan an outdoor party...   i have no idea what we are going to do!!!

family during the day - nap - friends at night???  ack!

  • We're thinking about heading to see my ILs around then so we can have her first birthday party with some of her family, but otherwise, it'll be just us.

Rent a fire hall do it all at once and enjoy it! I'd be more than willing to help in any way I can, too bad your not local then I could do more.

We don't invite friends only grandparents, our kids aunts and uncles and cousins is how we keep it small.

  • I was hoping to have a low key b-day at the park where we can grill and her cousins can play. We live in TN, so it probably won't be cold. I started a Pinterest page for fun, but might actually have to reserve the park shelter soon, which seems totally nuts to me. :)

  • DD's birthday theme is Little Bunny Foo-Foo. Since it's a couple months after Easter, I can grab a bunch of bunny things from then. I found the perfect bunny tutu w/ tail and ears for her outfit as well as a Etsy vendor that makes maribou bunny tails so the guests will have tails and ears as well. Various bunny themed food..cake balls for bunny tails, some type of orange colored juice for "carrot" juice, lots of veggies and bunny shaped edibles... I"m trying to find some company that has a bunny petty zoo in my area but they've all gotten really bad reviews. it will probably be at our house. It would just be easier that way.

  • We are in planning mode. It probably won't be a huge party but we have family and friends that will be coming.

We are doing a Mickey/Minnie party. Our son's birthday is 8 days after K's first birthday, so we are doing a pink Minnie party and a red Mickey party for them both. I have outfits picked out that I need to order and I have some of the decorations done or printed out. I'm super excited about this party!

  • I've started thinking about it, but we're going to do DD's around 11 months instead so daddy can be there.  I was thinking low key with friends at our house (we're military so no family close by).  Probaby do a Minnie theme as her bedroom is Disney :)  And then later throughout the summer as we see family, we'll do mini celebrations then.  This is one lucky baby :)
