going to an ophthalmologist

Augie's had a blocked tear duct for a long time. Pedi always told me not to worry, that itshould clear up by a year. Well since he's 15mo and it's still not cleared up, it's time to do something about it.

She wants me to try zyrtech first for 5 days just to rule out allergies (even though we're both pretty sure that's not what it is). Then we have to see the ophthalmologist and he'lll have a probing procedure : (

It requires anesthesia. Sad.

And random question...how would I know if my DD had a blocked tear duct? I have seen her cry, but I guess I haven't paid attention to check if tears are actually coming out of both eyes.

He just often has a tear coming out of his left eye. Definitely when out in the cold or wind.
