HOLY EFFING LIGHTENING CROTCH! Or something...

LO is so active that I wish I had ute googles to see what the hell he is doing in there. He is head down, so the main kicks/jabs/rolls/wiggles/movement I feel is the upper part of my uterus, but there are times that I get a shooting pain in my lower stomach and even to my vagina. In addition, there are shooting pains all throughout my abdomen when he gets crazy like this too, but it lasts literally 5 seconds at a time.

It's actually pretty painful when it happens. I remember lightening crotch with DS but it wasn't as frequent. Anyone else get frequent lightening crotch? Any "remedies" or things that have worked to relieve the uncomfortableness and/or frequency?

That at least makes me feel better.

I feel so guilty for even entertaining the thought of rolling with the OBs "big baby" prediction and still denying the c-section, but consenting to being induced at full term instead. Bleh. Case and point that a woman can have two totally different pregnancies.....

Last night DD was KILLING me with lightening crotch! Never had it with my last pregnancy, but last night I was getting them so bad it would take my breath away and I just had to stop what I was doing. DH actually thought that I was having a contraction looking at me standing in the kitchen. Such a weird feeling! Like you I was telling DH I wish I could see what the heck was going on in there, because I really don't understand what causes that kind of pain! Weird!

Yes I have been having this everyday. My little guy is also VERY active and it is painful when he moves around like that. As for "remedies" I dont think there are any for this. =(

I feel ya sister!

I find that when I'm sitting or propped in bed is when I get it the most. So I try to lay on my side and get baby to wiggle in a different position away from where she can shock me haha!

Honestly its just something we have to deal with.... I was feeling like I was being attacked for hours last night, esp when baby was really active! Ouch!

I'm in the same boat... I usually try changing positions and massaging my belly to get him to move around. Sometimes he'll relocate and sometimes he won't so it's a crapshoot. He likes to do it to me when I'm walking so that I look like a total freak when I pause mid step and get a deer in headlights look on my face.

My babe is also VERY active. He's big too, so most of his movements are at least somewhat painful.

The only thing worse than lightning crotch is lightning crotch when you have a UTI. I started meds for one last Friday, and I was beyond miserable on Saturday. I just wanted to cry. He was moving and banging and kicking, etc. and it was seriously irritating both my cervix and my bladder.

"Shock me" is a GREAT way to describe it!

For me, it happens when I'm sitting down. If I'm up and walking around, it doesn't. It's the strangest thing. With DS, if it happened, it happened from walking excessively that day.

Wonderful that I'm in class all day today, so I get to experience this lightening crotch often. Yay! Thanks, LO.

LOL yes! I will be sitting there wincing, and FI is all, "Ummm..... are you... okay?" I don't even want to know what my classmates think of me today.

I have some choice names for DD when she does this. I wonder how she hasn't popped the damn amniotic sac with all those jabs and kicks. The past few days have been the worse b/c she's so far down. I can tell when she's rolling over b/c OMJ the pressure and pain is ridiculous. I literally feel like a bowling ball return thingy, spinning and shooting out 8+ lbs of baby... wtf...
