DD finally had her 12 month well baby visit yesterday (nearly 2 months late). One of the big discussion points was challenging DD with dairy. Is anyone else starting to challenge their LO? What is your plan for adding in dairy?
Our pediatrician actually added allergy tests onto DDs routine 12 month bloodwork so we won't start the challenge until the results come back and the pedi clears her to start. If she is cleared we will start with yogurt for a month. If she can handle that and is still gaining weight appropriatelyl we get to progress to adding in cheeses for a month. After that month, if all is still going well we will add in WCM. This is the plan the pedi laid out for us and it seems appropriately slow to me.
Re: If your LO has a milk allergy, come in.
DD2 is still on Alimentum. We are able to give her cheese and yogurt just fine and she takes milk and butter fine in small quantities (mixed in mashed potatos or mac and cheese). Our plan for going off Alimnetum did not pan out though. The plan was to go to a sensitive formula since they are lactose free and if she tolerated that for 2-3 days we could use Lactaid milk. Well she tolerated the first sippy of formula, but projectile vomited the second. This means allergy testing/titers for her...yay.

Your plan sounds good! Our experience with dairy allergies was limited to before 1-year and now is just lactose intolerance. Out plan for introducing LO to milk products was similar to your plan. GL, I hope all goes well!
BTW, I saw your ticker. I'm so sorry!
Poor girl! DD had her bloodwork today and it was not fun to say the least. Hopefully she just needs a few more months to grow out of the allergy. Did/does your DD1 have a milk allergy?

I was wondering if we might bump up against lactose issues even if she isn't having allergy issues anymore (especially since I am lactose intolerant). The pediatrician seemed to think we should try her on regular WCM before going the lactaid route though.
Also, thank you for the support. It sucks, but I am coping.

Nope, DD1 didn't have any feeding issues. DD2 has had a whole slew of feeding issues. She is much better, but not great yet.
