When do you work out?

I work full time, leave the house at 7:50 am, walk in the door at 6:30 pm and pepare homemade baby food at night after I do the night routine with the baby.  I want to start exercising and am considering joining a gym near my office and going on my lunch hour.  Just curious as to when others are fitting in their workout routines.  I seem to feel too tired at night once I'm home.  I also want to rush home to spend a little bit of time with the baby. The morning is consumed with getting ready while watching a crawling/cruising 10-month old.

  • I have a gym at work so I go on my lunch break.  If my husband does not work the night before (he is a third shifter), I will go early in the morning (try to get there before 6 a.m.).  Most weeks, I take classes Monday nights and Wednesday nights at the Y.  I've also starting getting in additional workouts at home (I bought kettlebells and a new exercise mat in addition to using various workouts via skimble workout trainer).  On the weekends, DH and I take turns in going to the gym and on occasion, I will take Sundays off.

  • When I worked, I did the gym at noon thing.
    Now, I run on the treadmill during DD's nap while my 5 yo plays on the computer in the room with me.
    You're only other option is to get up before DS and workout at home.
  • My favorite time is early morning before DD or DH are awake.  It gives me time to work out, shower, and have my coffee before anyone is up.  If not, then lunch time is another option.  I cannot workout in the evenings...I just don't feel motivated enough!
  • I wake up earlier and do it before I have to start the morning routine.  For me, that means 4:15 AM, but it is so worth it.
  • I also get up very early, before everyone else.  Usually, I'm up by 5:15 am during the week.  On the weekends, I will work out mid-morning while the kids play or during nap time.  I miss sleeping in, but I love having my time in the morning.

  • We have a dog that needs to be walked every morning.  Before the baby came, that was my job.  So I'd use that time to for a run with the dog.  Took a little more time than a walk, but guaranteed I'd get a run in!

    I just started back up again with that and I love being done with working out before everyone else gets up. I go from 6-6:30, come home and shower, and right about then is when DH and my son are waking up.

  • After bedtime, usually from 9:30 - 11:30 (on a good day!)

  • I only work 3 days a week. But when I work I workout on my lunch hour. I either walk outside or we have a gym in my building. I can lift weights, do the treadmill or put on a dvd. when Im home I will do it in the morning and my son will just play or "workout" with me.  when the weather is nice I do walks with him.

    whats nice is Jillian Michaels dvds they are only 20 min workouts. So 30 day shred, ripped in 30 etc.

  • I have a 4 week old and will be going back to work in two weeks. Been having the same questions as to when do i work out. Right now we go for a stroll in the mid am but in 2 weeks i work 730-430 ugh!
