It really won't let me make a clicky even though I've done it before. Anyways, I need help! I got short notice to find a dress and order it in the next few weeks. The bride wanted us to pick from a few designers, but I couldn't find any of the dresses anywhere near me to try on. So the bride said I could get a dress from a store near me because we are all wearing different shades of gray. I went yesterday to try on dresses by myself because my family and good friends are 2+ hours away. My choices were limited to long and chiffon (and not sweetheart neckline, it looks terrible on me) so here is what I got -- and my dress will be in a dark gray / charcoal color.
#1
#2 (the sash would just be the same as the rest of the dress I think. Also, I admit I wore the short version of this dress in white for my own casual wedding)
#3 (I would probably just cut off the weird bow - they said it comes off)
#4
#5 -- I didn't get to try this one on, but it's similar to the others? And this is by the designer the bride originally wanted me to chose from.
#6 -- same as above, didn't get to try it on, but it is a similar shape/style and the designer the bride first wanted
Help me!! Any input? FTR, I am 5'3 and size 16.

Re: Vote on a bridesmaid dress? PIPs
#2 looks very similar to my bridesmaid dresses, which I loved and so did all of my girls. It was such a flattering style to every body type! I also really like #5, although of course it's nerve-wracking to buy without having tried on. I don't like #3 or #4 very much, and I much prefer #5 to #6 (although they're similar). I think #1 looks great on you.
Sorry, not too much help but at least I narrowed it down a bit, hopefully!

Thanks for your honesty? haha.
I really wanted to stick with the designer the bride wanted, but I honestly can't find the dresses ANYWHERE to try on. I called stores for 2 days straight. I really like #5, I'm just afraid to buy it without trying it on!!

I don' t think sweetheart necklines are flattering on everyone, especially when you have a large chest. They look terrible on me and make my shoulders look very broad. I would try to find something as close as possible and by the same designer if you are going to order one you haven't tried on.
It's ok, I don't mind, I was just surprised at how um direct your comment was
I had the store yesterday measure me so I'm not worried about the size. I would go a little big just to be sure. I'm just worried about not getting to try on the style of the dress. The slight sweetheart neckline scares me. I look bad in sweetheart.
See?
But this dress is not even an option. It looks too similar to a dress that was already picked by another girl.

Which do you like best? Which do you feel the prettiest in? If the dress makes you feel good you' 'll be more confident.
ETA: This was supposed to quote thetheisens...I was feeling validated too ;. Dumb mobile bump.
Another vote for #1 - it lengthens you by drawing the eye up. All the others draw the eyes across your body, which isn't great when you're not a supermodel.
PLUS I hate strapless dresses at weddings. There is nothing flattering about tugging at your top the whole time so that your breasts don't fall out.
I agree with Lopes about the fitting of #1. #1 is still my favorite, but I think if you have it taken in a little below the bust and around the waist, it would be that much more flattering!
I also think Lopes is right about taking in dress number one. Right now I like dress 2 because the belt defines your waist. I don't think you look bad in a sweet heart neckline at all.
Dress shopping is just a bowl full of cherries!
I forgot to mention this, too! I think the sweetheart neckline looks great on you and is better than the straight-across neckline. It's like I mentioned in your post a couple of days ago, v-neck looks (including sweetheart) look better on us more broad-shoulder gals, because it draws the eyes downward instead of just across our shoulders.
