Lady gals!

Our trip got off to an auspicious start when we missed our flight due to very very long TSA lines! BWHAT?!? This has never happened to me or to Mister D before! Luckily we caught the stand-by for the next flight, so we didn?t lose much time.

We rented a car and stayed with my favorite aunt & uncle who live in Denver.

On Friday we had to be in Lone Tree at the clinic at 6:45am. We arrived and checked in. Then we sat in a conference room with 4 other couples and we all went over our ?orientation? with a nurse. We followed along through an enormous 3 ring binder that we received.

After that we went downstairs to Andrology where Mister D left a sample. Then we headed back upstairs for a good ol? fashioned vag wanding.

The u/s tech was so incredibly nice! She took all my internal measurements and checked my AFC (24 Smile ) and then did a Doppler study on the blood flow of my ovaries. Everything looked really good.

Then we met with the business office at C.CR.M, we signed some paperwork, made a deposit on an IVF cycle and headed to our next appointment. Our doc was in surgery, so she was running late but we met with her and asked any questions we had (I asked about hydrosalpinges because I was nervous with my ?blocked left tube? that I might need to get that tube snipped before we attempted an IVF in CO.) Then we headed to have a hysteroscopy.

The hysteroscopy went well. It was uncomfortable (they fill your ute with a bit of CO2 gas and then look inside with a camera to check for abnormalities and scarring) but it was very fast, like only 3 minutes or so and I took an ibuprophen about 1 hour before to help with any cramping. Afterwards I had what felt like mild menstrual cramps. Doc said everything looked perfect!

We signed more paperwork and then had our blood work done. I think there were 10 or 12 vials for me. The blood gals were fabulous and very very kind. I need to lay down to get it drawn and they were very good at dealing with that and with my teeny tiny veins.

We had a session after that where we learned more CCS testing, they gave Mister D a paper with some supplement suggestions and we signed more papers and went over forms. One more business session with paper signing and we were almost done.

I had another HSG at the end of the day. It was at the hospital across the street and it went well (both tubes are totally open!!! Surprise ) but they were not ?with it? and we sat for 25 minutes when we got there because someone had forgotten about us by placing our file on the desk of a person who was not in that day, and then, after we were admitted, I was told that because "you were a little late" that they let others go ahead of us, so I watched 2 "Friends" episodes in the waiting room and I didn?t get into the radiology room until 2(!!!) hours after our appointment. So frustrating! And I was, at that point, tired of being poked and speculumed (Which is now a verb, thank you). But we shook it off and ate some tacos and went out to eat that night with my aunt & uncle and all is right with the world.

That?s the deal from the appointment. We flew back on Saturday night.

Per C.C.RM?s age relate requirements (I'll be 37 next Monday) I have to have a mammogram (it?s tomorrow morning) and I?m nervous about it. I?ve never done one before and I hope everything?s clear.

I also need to get the beta-3-integrin endometrial biopsy done in the last bit of this cycle (I ordered the kit and my local RE will do it for me) as well as have my CD3 labs run again (local RE will do it but the blood needs to be shipped to C.C.RM so they can run it in their lab). After that we?ll get our protocol and calendar.

If I?m really lucky maybe I can start BCPs on this next cycle and we?ll have our retrieval in early March ? otherwise it will be late March/early April.

Wow! You sure had a lot done on your trip! No wonder you felt speculummed! I'm so crossing my fingers for you and Mister D that everything from here on out goes smoothly, that all of your remaining testing (including the mammogram) shows nothing to be worried about and you guys can move forward for a wonderful cycle.

And PS that stinks about missing your flight!

I'm exhausted and overwhelmed just reading all that! It really is a ODWU (should be called work-over)!! I'm glad it mostly went well. I'd be pissed about the 2 hr HSG wait! FX for a great mammo, they are super fun. Tongue Tied I hope you are lucky and get to start with your next cycle! Many T&P that this will bring you your take home LO.

Whew! Sounds like you ran the infertile's equivalent of a triathlon.

I am thrilled that having your uterus inflated with CO2 gas is not as horrifying as it sounds. (I pictured a not-blue Violet Beaureguard sort of thing.)

Congratulations on a wonderful work up. You really covered every bit of the workup. I am currently prepping for my FET which should be next week if all goes well. It is an amazing place, right? I hope all goes well there for you! Good luck!!

Sounds good! Overwhelming, for SURE, but good. At least at a place like C.CRM, they are used to OOT patients and have the ODWU routine down...glad you were in good hands (other than the Radiology snafu). Happy that you've got this step of the process done!

Love this update because it means the wheels of progress are turning! Sounds like CC.RM is definitely covering all the bases.

Is the e-teg.rity test required? I know someone who did two DE cycles at CC.RM. After her first DE attempt, which ended in m/c, she pursued the e-teg.rity test on her own. Lo and behold she was missing the infamous beta-3 integrin protein. BTW, she was very, very DOR. After Lupron depot treatment, she went on to have two healthy pregnancies. I think running this test is very wise.
