Hi! Yes, DH is in his 2nd year of IM residency. Fortunately it's only a 3 year program! I'm not sure I could handle any more than that. What is your husbands specialty? Does he have a job lined up?

As a side note, my DD1's name is Zoey. I think you've said your screen name refers to your dog though, right?

    My husband has 1.5 years left in residency. I thought we were almost done, until he came home a few months ago talking about fellowships. Looks like we are going to add on one more year.

    oh yes the fellowship. I'm secretly hoping he won't want to do one but if the job offers don't look great then he said he's going to.

     What specialty is your husband doing? 

     

    Hopefully he will get a great offer!

    I'm still hoping he changes his mind. We will have to move for 1 year. I hate moving, so I'm not looking forward to it.  He is in plastic surgery.

    Man, you gals have the over achiever husbands...plastics and anesthesia! I can't even imagine going thru either of those residencies. DH signed on to be a hospitalist at one of the hospitals in the city we currently reside in. He was undecided before starting residency as to whether or not to do a fellowship. In the end he was just ready to be done and start working. I'm thankful for that.

    Fortunately, the match brought us to South Dakota, which has a good housing market. Living with my parents for a year helped us save up a good chunk for a down payment.

    Do either of you work outside the home? I work 3 days a week. It's a pretty good balance most of the time.

    Before we moved for residency I was a teacher. We had DS1 soon after we moved, and now I stay home.
