Hello all,
I was a member of the feb 2013 as my original due date was 2.02.13, however my little one could not wait that long. My water broke in my labor and delivery class on 12.22....and I was 34 weeks. After 44 hours of labor and no real progression my dr suggested a csection. On 12.24 we had Alivia Grace. I suppose that we were lucky that she was on the large side, lol she was 6lbs 4 oz and 17 inches long. Dr said had I gone full term she would have been 10 to 11 pounds. Alivia is in the NICU baiscally learning to eat....and take all of her feeds thru a bottle not a feeding tube. When we arrived she was hooked to a cpap machine, with an iv, feeding tube and under a warmer. Alivia is currently off of everything except her feeding tube she usually requires 1 feed per 24 hours thru the tube because she is just to tired to eat. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks that she has been in the NICU, and I am praying that she can come home soon. We keep getting the same response of a week to two more weeks until she can come home.....and of course they all say that it is up to her
I am just hoping that she decides to do it soon because I would like to spend time with her before I have to go back to work.
I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself as I have a feeling I will be looking to you ladies for advice in the future. A little more about myself I am 34 with another daughter who is 15 and in high school an amazing soon to be hubby (delayed the wedding when we found out about this little one lol) and 3 furry babies (doggies)

Congratulations on your daughter! I was also a member of the Feb 2013 board, due on 2/3/13. My DD was born at 31 and 4 days and she has been home with us for a week. The feeding is the most frustrating part I thought. It really does just click for them. My DD started breast feeding 8 hours a day and getting the rest of her feeds by her NG tube. One day the nurses started bottles at night and after a few days, she just figured it out. She was home 4 days later.
It will happen, just be patient. My advice is to be there as much as possible to feed her bottles and make sure the nurses try bottles as well. The more she practices the better she will get.
Good Luck!
