Anyone into wire wrapping jewelry?

I am going to start doing this and I need to know what to start off with. I googled a bunch of stuff and now I'm just overwhelmed with it all... anyone have any suggestions?

  • I'm interested, but have only done a couple of shoddy pieces. I, too, was completely overwhelmed when I looked for directions, etc. Let me know if you find anything useful!

  • I'll keep you posted. I'm going to reach out to my cousin and see what he uses. His stuff is really nice.

  • I have done it. Do you mean like this? This is a wire wrapped dangle bracelet I made while in progress:

Kinda... I am looking at wire wrapping pendants and such.. I'm trying to figure out what wire I buy... any ideas? I know that have certain gauges and flexability.. but can't figure out which to get.  Cute Braclet!! :)

  • I used 22 gauge half hard sterling silver wire to make the bracelet.

For a necklace, I would suggest looking at 18 or 20 gauge, depending on how thick of a wire you like and the size of the opening in the pendant that you need it to fit through.

For tools, I would say you need three to start- a wire cutter, a round nose plier, and a chain-nose/needle-nose plier.
