D&C related to C-sect?

My friend at work said her D&C caused her to have a C-section. I miscarried and had a D&C in the Spring. Have any 2nd time moms experienced this? I know C-sects are so common, just wondering if I have any shot at a v-birth.

  • The only thing I can think of is that she had some kind of scarring either on her uterus or on her cervix. Scarring on the cervix can cause FTP, especially if your provider has you on a timer. Typically a D&C should not cause you to have any issues with a vaginal birth.

  • My D&C and my c-section were not related in the least.  My c-section was due to my back injury.  If it weren't for my disabilities I could have easily had a vag delivery post D&C

  • I am pretty sure they are totally unrelated unless there was some major scarring but even then I wouldn't think it would matter.  I had a D&C after a MC and I did end up having a C/s but that was because I labored for hours and hours and my 10 lb. baby wouldn't come out!!

  • I don't think they are related.

  • I had a D&C before I got pregnant with my son and I had no problem having a vaginal birth.
