For me it's probably TV. I don't leave him in front of it for hours and most of the time it's off but sometimes he gets in really fussy moods and when I walk out of the room he yells. If the TV is on he gets distracted and doesn't notice that I walked away to go to the bathroom real quick or switch over laundry etc.

In the days where it took DS an hour to BF, slept for maybe an hour then cycle again I used to let him fall asleep on my chest. It would be the only time I got any sleep. He would wake as soon as I put him down, so I would just let him be and sleep on the couch sitting up with him.
I cringe now, but I think I would've done anything then to get him to sleep!

Last night we finally had a successful night with him in the PnP, but before that he was co-sleeping and I always swore I'd never do it... hopefully the PnP/crib will work from now on b/c it made me and DH super nervous!

I nurse the boys in bed for their morning feeding and often doze off. It is just so comfy and snuggly, and I am a so tired. I think tv is going to be the next "rule" I break. I have held out so far, but they are fascinated whenever it comes on. I think it might be a sanity-saver when they get mobile.

IT'S TWIN BOYS!! Tommy and Charlie arrived on 9/10/12 after less than 6 hours of labor at 32 weeks
I thought my friend was crazy because her lo sleeps in her bed and I swore my little girl would sleep in her own co-sleeper for the first few months and then in the crib in her room. I was already sleeping while holding her in the hospital after hours of her screaming every time we put her down. We still try each night to get her to sleep in her co-sleeper or swing but she still spends most of each night in bed with us because it's the only way any of us can get more than an hour of sleep.
We are all breaking the same "rules," it seems! When DD lies down for a nap during the day, I'll often cover her with a blanket that I tuck under her. She never moves when she's asleep, so I'm not REALLY worried.
I also often bring her to bed with me in the morning after she nurses, and we'll fall asleep together for an hour or so.
I let dd fall asleep on me and I would doze off with her. I never intended to, but early on there were days I was so tired that I did allow it to happen.

Actually I do the same thing with naps, I will put a blanket over dd but tuck it in under her. I try to put her down for naps in her crib or the swing, but I have also fallen asleep more recently from time to time with her in bed or in her chair in her room. Usually just around an hour though.
