DS's birthday is in March and I'd love to have an outdoor party since we have a large yard and back onto a private park. However, we live in Michigan, which means the weather could be 80 degrees or 10...it might even be sunny and then snow or rain an hour later. Last year was a gorgeous 70 degree day and I regretted not having his friends over.
Would you chance having an outdoor party with unpredictable weather...? I guess I could invite only a few kids in case it's a yucky day and have to bring everyone inside...although I'd rather not, for multiple reasons. Would it be weird to say the party would be rescheduled if the weather was poor...?
I'd rather not fork over a ton of money for an indoor play place when I have an awesome play place in my backyard!
Re: Bday and Weather
No, I wouldn't chance an outdoor party in March unless you have a bad weather plan (which would involve bringing the kids inside).
Why not just invite 3 or 4 friends and then not worry about it?
That would be fine except we have a lot of people to invite. Even if we only had the neighbors, DS's cousin, and one or two select friends that's still a full house, and that would be completely excluding kids from our mom group and DS's preschool.
