Should my three year old really be able to dress himself? We just switched to a new pedi and she made me feel horrible that my son isn't doing this yet. He just isn't very interested in any of that stuff. I think he is capable if he cared. I wasn't worrying at all...but she made me feel really bad. Is your just turned three year old dressing by themselves?

Re: Dressing self
DD can if she is in the right mood. Honestly, I don't push her, she stalls a lot when it comes to getting ready, so that's just one more thing to add to the already slow time to get out the door.
She'll put on her pants if I ask her to, or take them off. But that's all I really push for. I didn't push before because I picture her being the kid taking their shirt off in public because she could, I think she's past that now, but 'eh, she'll do it when she's ready.
IMO, don't feel bad!
DD sometimes needs some help finding arm holes in her shirts but otherwise can fully dress herself. But, that's totally on her terms. I don't think she was even two before she started with the "I do it MY. SELF." stuff.
I watch a little boy one year younger than she... he can't even help me get his coat on. He's like dressing an infant. He has no interest whatsoever in even considering dressing himself.
