Pre-School and Daycare

tooshie wiping?

When did your kids learn to wipe their own tooshies? My boys are starting pre-school tomorrow and I told the director that they are potty trained but need help wiping. She said ok that she would inform their teacher that they need help. It just got me wondering if other 3-year-olds wipe themselves. Right now it just seems like a messy undertaking ;)

Of all the day before preschool questions I could ask....

I started really working on it a few months after 2 because she was starting preschool at 2 1/2. First I wiped and had her follow up. Then I had her do it and I finished up. Then I had her do it until the tp was clean.

    Oh. Good idea.

  • My boys can wipe their own using a flushable wipe... I wouldn't trust them with dry toilet paper to do a good job.  But I don't think my boys would poop at preschool either... they've only gone once at daycare in the last 6 months.  They hold it til they are home usually.

  • DD's been wiping herself since she first was potty trained.

She knows to wipe herself and count to five and she will ask for help if its "messy"  I would say she asks me for help like 1-2x a week, she comes home w/ skid marks like 1x a week from school.

Yup.  My kids are destined to be this when they grow up:
