Wow, she's FINALLY here and I'm so relieved!! Her birth was so quick... so my story will be short!
All day Saturday hubby & I finished all last minute things @ our house to prep for baby. I layed down to relax on the couch while hubby finished up and got our 2yr old son ready for bed. After working on the house all day I hadn't showered... so it was about 10:45ish and I told him I'd take a quick shower b/c I felt gross & dirty!
About 11pm I got out and told him I was gonna lay down in bed b/c I started having some pains so I wanted to see if laying down would make them go away. (I'd been having BH for several days)
Well, not 5 minutes passed and he came to check on me... I had already had 2 more contraction pains. I started timing them, and they came about every 3-4mins lasting at least 30-40 seconds. I decided to call my doctor's office so she could be paged. She called me back within 5 minutes, I told her my pains and she told me to go into L&D.
I told hubby, he freaked out and threw stuff in a bag. Literally... pants, no shirts, a spoon, the tv remote... lol. Poor guy I on the other hand already had my bag & the baby bag packed. He called his grandparents to come over b/c our son was already asleep in his bed. I live about 45 mins away from the hospital, but my hubby drove and got us here within 20 mins. The drive was horrible... my contractions were about a minute & a half apart w/unbelievable pain!
We pulled up to L&D @ 12:20am... they seriously didn't think I was going to make it upstairs... (they brought a L&D bag downstairs!) They checked my cervix, I was 8cm dilated. They hurried and gave me my IV, started the epidural. By the time they hooked me up and the epidural kicked in, it was about 1am. I did a few pushes through the big contractions (maybe 4-5 pushes) and I was at a 10. I pushed literally 2 and 1/2 times and she popped right out!
Our beautiful Braelyn was born yesterday morning at 1:34am weighing 7lbs 3oz and 21 inches long. She's absolutely beautiful... can't wait for our son Braxton to meet her this afternoon!
Thanks for reading my birth story... it's so great to FINALLY meet our LO and join you ladies! It's been a long road for sure!
