Holy cow, in approximately 3 short months, our kids will be turning two! How did that happen?
I didn't really do a theme last year for dd's first birthday, but she is now obsessed with Cookie Monster so I am looking at etsy & pinterest for ideas (and feeling slightly overwhelmed by how crafty some people are).
What ideas, themes, plans, etc are you thinking of for LO's second birthday? (If any?)
Re: 2nd birthday!!!
I know! It's insane! We are going to do a music themed party. Our little guy LOVES music and dancing!

Last year we did a "You Are My Sunshine" theme.
Nora looooves all things Sesame Street, but she also logs dogs and reading, so being the English teacher that I am, I'm leaning towards a "Go Dog Go" party. There's not a ton out there, but I think I can pull it off.
If it gets to overwhelming, Sesame Street it will be. lol
I can't believe it and it will be hard saying I have a 2 year old!!! DD loves everything with Mickey and Minnie Mouse so her 2nd birthday party will be a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme
We had a pretty large birthday party for DD last year and it was only family. This year we are scaling it down tremendously. We will probably do two small family parties- one with DHs fam, and one with our fam. I'm even thinking of going out to Friendly's or something. Nothing huge. She loves Yo Gabba Gabba. Anyone know why they stopped making episodes?
I was just telling the hubs last night that I was already planning her 2nd birthday and that it was making me sad...where did our babies go?
We are doing a Doc McStuffin's theme. I'm going to have the kids bring a stuffed animal or small toy to be checked out and have lot's of "medical" things for them to use (bandages, wraps, tongue depressors, ice packs, play medical equiptments, etc.) and set up a little doctors clinic for them to check up their toys. I have found check up certificates to give each toys after their check-ups. We are inviting 5 children ranging in age (at the time) of 1 1/2 to 2 1/2.
I'm hoping to find purple notebooks for favors (big book of boo-boos) and maybe a small package of crayons or markers to go with it.
For the food I have no idea yet. Other than cake or course, maybe we'll just do something easy like pizza this year...
i wouldn't let yourself get too overwhelmed! there are SO many things you could really do but will it really matter in the long run and will she even remember how much effort you put in or will she actually remember how much fun she had with her couple friends and family?? i would plan for fun games instead of crazy decor!
you could do a cool cookie monster cake and/or cookie monster cupcakes...then just do a dark blue, red, white, black colored everything else. like the table cloth, balloons, straws, plates, cups...then it's not really crazy crafty but still gives the same effect!
good luck!!
i know for DS he is obsessed with bulldozers, i was thinking of trying to make one of those 'dirt' cakes with the bulldozer on the top.
hahah or oscar the grouch!!
My dd also loves Sesame Street, and in particular, Elmo. So I think Elmo it is!
My Ovulation Chart
We're doing Liam's party at the Children's Museum. They just have a box of themes you pick from, and they do everything to match. You get two pizzas from a local pizza place, and a themed cake from "Jake's Cakes." All you have to do is send out invitations, and they do everything else -- balloons and streamers to match the theme of the invitations and then plates, cups, party hats, etc.
So, I already filled out paperwork, and I'll pre-pay sometime soon-ish, and we're in! YAY for anything with no planning involved!
Mac and cheese lover!
