Those that have the annoying Fisher Price Remote, there is a volume control. It's the remotes volume control button. If you push the minus sign numerous times the volume will go down. If you push the plus sign, the volume will slowly go up.

The only problem, is that your kid will be pushing those buttons anyway....so most likely they will turn it back up.

I just discovered it because we are on a 8 hour trip and Gator is in the back playing with her remote. I can hear the volume going up and down while she is pushing the buttons.

On our 6hr trip to LA we discovered the cure. We put stickers over the speaker. Worked like a charm.

Elsa, I knew about the volume control. Problem as you said is only that Alastair loves pressing those buttons. But you know, I will buy some stickers!!!
