Adoption is Final!

We were really pushing to finalize in 2012 because of the tax credit. Our attorney said that our county is famous for being super slow with finalizing adoptions so he said it was nearly impossible to do it. In early December, he said that there might actually be a possibility but then right before Christmas, he said they had a ton to do and very little time with the holidays.

Well, we went out of town for a week or so and had our mail held. We got back a few days ago and when the mail came, our adoption decree was in it, dated December 28th!

I am really excited, regardless of the tax credit. We didn't have to go to court so there wasn't a big event surrounding it, but it feels so good to know it's final and we're finally going to get her birth certificate. Yay!
