Anyone do a khaki & white nursery? We are Green and looking to do something neutral. Our house is being renovated as we speak, so the upstairs is all going to be painted one color (to keep costs low), so it'd likely be some neutral light tan color, and a neutral carpet in the bedrooms. White furniture and crib sheets. Maybe a large giraffe decal on one wall. I'll hang prints up, but likely in muted colors.
Am I going to feel like its the boring sahara desert? I found lots of images on Pinterest & google and it looks calm & pretty, just wondering if anyone has done it and loved or hated it. Also, is there a good color pop that would go with it, either neutral to use now, or boy/girl colors that is easy to add in later? TIA!
Re: Khaki & white nursery
I think it all depends on the items you pick. Since evrything is so neutral, the shape/architecture of each piece should be visually interesting. Restoration hardware has a lot of nuetral nursery photos on their web catalog.
This is kinda what we've gone for - not so much white and khaki but "light and airy" which turned out to be a lot of white/ivory and some accents. I'm having trouble now though because after getting what seems like probably the final piece last night (the floor lamp) I'm rethinking my fun blue side table! You'll see from the photos that there is blue in the cornice boxes so it's not totally random but in the panoramic photos of the room I feel like it's all of a sudden sticking out like a sore thumb and I'm tempted to paint it like I did the dresser except more on the white side. Thoughts? Good luck with your choices, I think your white and khaki Sahara Desert sounds lovely
This is the truest representation of the wall color, it's a very light seafoamy blue:
Snowflake, I really like the blue table! It's a soft enough shade to subtly stand out. It def doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
OP, a spicy red would be a great color that could be boy or girl. Or a slate or wedgewood blue. (Blue accessories don't have to scream boy.)
