Just wondering what the points are that we get. I have a lot, but I have no clue how I got them or why I need them. Anyone know?

    They don't do much of anything other than determine when and if you will get a nesticle (but there are other factors too apparently).  They come from posting, as a moderator I can see that this post was worth 21 points, if someone quotes you in a reply, I think you get extra points.  No idea who came up with the idea or why.

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    Yes!  Best explanation ever.

    Points do seem to play a role in nesticles, as pp mentioned, but only number of posts affect your status (newbie, bronze, silver, gold or platinum).

    Total newb question here, but what is a nesticle.  All I can think of is the rhyming word that starts with a "t."

    Before we had nesticles they were balls!  They are the little blocks under your SN.  They indicate rank in posting activity and frequency.

    All of this stuff was recently revamped, though, wasn't it?  Like the most active posters list on the right.  It used to have the same 10 names and the people on and their number of posts never changed, but then it got wiped clean and has been updating every now and then.  And the number of nesticles people had suddenly changed a few months ago when they tried the new format and then switched back to the old one.

    I don't know if I'd give enough credit to say revamped, fixed some broke junk maybe.   Nesticles never changed, what changed was the mass exodus from the Nest when they switched to the new format.  Many, many long timers left and didn't come back, thus clearing out a large portion of top posters and nesticles appeared for posters like me.
