Vent update

So on top of what happened yesterday, DS has been super sick for 4 to 5 days now. His doctor called yesterday to confirm he tested positive for RSV. He stopped throwing up today, and his fever went down, but now its back up to 100.6. His lungs sound horrible despite breathing treatments and he is so lethargic. He has athsma so these things are more hard on his lungs.

I don't know if I should drag him to the ER tonight to check his lungs or wait until morning. We are in Maine and its super cold outside. I feel like just getting him some rest would be better, but also his cough is really concerning. Ugh. Times like this I wish I had XH to help me decide.

DD started coughing today too. Poor little things. I'm glad I have two days off work to stay home with them.

I just let them sleep last night and took them into their doctor this morning. DS Kims sound better, and his fever is down, although now he has an ear infection that requires antibiotics and drops. DD has some lung congestion, we need to continue breathing treatments with them both to avoid pnemonia, and she has a yeast infection and foliculitous on her bum, most likely from changing pullup brands. She also needs drops Fe her ears. I'm at the pharmacy picking up 6 prescriptions right now.

    How often are you doing the treatments right now? Every 2 hours, 4 hours?

    Lurker here, As an asthmatic I say bring him in. You said he is lethargic, that tells me he is working to hard just to breath. I don't know much on RSV, but I know if I get pneumonia my asthma is 10x more sensitive.

    If every four hours is not working then he should go to the ER. One time I have another treatment two hours later and it did the trick but if he needed one two hours again I would have gone in.

    With my DS, they always want us to try every 2 before bringing him in.
