My husband and I have been trying to go out to eat on the weekends as much as possible. We live in Chicago so there are tons of choices. Each weekend we pick a new place. It's been fun!
actuallly i was just talking about this! last night we went to Atlantic City (we earned a comp room and got an amazing steak dinner), we are going to the poconos in 2 weeks with 2 other couples (one of the other wives is prego too!) and then next weekend we are going to visit my brother - he lives 2 hrs away so we dont get there often.
I would still like a day of pampering and another date night out with DH. I also read in American Baby you should have a girls night/sleepover. I need to e-mail my friends and get the ball rolling on that one. Im wondering if we can just all agree on a Saturday afternoon for manis and lunch - i figure that kills two birds with one stone! lol
We have 10 weeks left so my DH & I decided to do some fun "together time" each weekend. This weekend we went to a movie. Next weekend, we're celebrating Christmas with his family & painting the nursery. We thought this would be a fun thing to do as we celebrate the last few weeks of being DINK! (double income/no kids!)
I would love to go away for the night with DH, but don't know if that will happen. We could go on a weekend (doable) or over February break, but that's too close for comfort to my due date so we'll go in January if we go at all.
I'd love to start and finish the baby's room - and that's pretty much it! We get to go out often (we have lots of willing, free, family baby sitters within 20 minutes) so I'm sure we'll get to do dinner/movies in the next couple of weeks.
Originally I had planned to do lots of fun dates before LO arrives, but now we're just struggling to find time for everything. DH has been working a crazy amount of overtime, and seems to get called into work everytime he's supposed to have a day off. Don't get me wrong, the overtime is a real blessing, but I'm starting to freak out about getting stuff done.
To complicate matters, I have a partial previa, so I'm kind of scared to do too much on my own. Thankfully DH has vacation coming up in a few weeks, so we're hoping to at least get the nursery painted before we head out of town for DH's Grandmother's memorial service.
Is it terrible that I have a list of things I want to do once I'm not pregnancy anymore. Number One: Drink a margarita.
Wine for me. I think I will splurge on my favorite bottle.
As for a pregnancy bucket list, the only thing I wanted to make sure to do was take advantage of the "expectant mother" parking spots at least once silly yes, but there are none near me so I had to do it while we were in the city yesterday. it's the little things, lol.
Re: "bucket list" before baby arrives?
Mine is pretty simple and I would still like to add to it. There is a lot more I would want to do if it was warmer out, but oh well.
Go to the movies
Go to Melting Pot for their chocolate fondue dessert
Get dressed and go to a nice dinner with DH
Have a girls night with my SILs (might be hard because we are spread over 3 states)
