Potty trained but pee'd twice on the sofa today!!!

My daughter will be 3 March 30th. She's been potty trained since she turned 2. Yes, she has the occasional accidents but today she has been on something totally different. Earlier today she was sitting on the sofa, fully dressed watching cartoons and sat there and pee'd. Of course this is just as we're about to walk out the door in addition to the fact that SHE KNOWS BETTER! She wears panties every single day so this came out of nowhere. Then a few hours ago, again she's sitting on the sofa fully dressed watching cartoons and pees again on the sofa. At this point I'm livid. Has anyone else experienced a sudden "regression" with the child at this age? What did you do to reassure them or encourage them to get up and go?

    Yes, DD has experienced this.  She has been potty trained since 23 months (with a short regression a couple of months later when DS was born) and she had a regression right before she turned 3.  The first accident occurred while we were shopping at Toys R Us.  DD who hadn't had any accidents for over 8 months stood in the middle of Toys R Us and emptied her bladder on their floor without any warning that she had to go.  I was MOTY that day because I was stressed anyway and it made me angry. 

    It is probably due to their growth cycle.  Our kids are still pretty young.  I felt horrible for getting mad at her after the first accident and made sure to let her know that accidents happen and that it was ok.  The accidents occurred for a couple more days and then stopped.

    Thanks for responding! I was livid b/c I felt that it was intentional. Like you, I was already tired and stressed and that was like the last straw. She cried b/c I raised my voice and I felt like scum immediately afterwards. The second time on the same day though I was just shocked and that prompted me to search for answers. I thought it might have something to do with her turning 3 in a couple months but I wanted to check for sure.
