Sorry in advance if this is a silly question...
Are there any cribs that convert to a twin bed? I've been looking online but the descriptions for all of the convertible cribs that I've seen say they transition to a toddler bed and a full size bed. Our 2nd bedroom is pretty tiny and we'd prefer a twin size bed versus a full when the time comes, so I was just curious if any one knows of any that convert to a twin, ideally $250 or less.
Thanks!!
Re: Convertible crib?
I don't believe any full sized crib convert to a twin, but the mini ones do. Some can convert to a "day bed", though I believe that's still just the crib mattress without the toddler rail.
I think that it's physically impossible to do that conversion, which is why they don't. The full-size bed conversion uses either the front or back rails as the headboard/footboard. And I believe the sides of the crib would be too narrow to use as the headboard/footboard for a twin.
The mini cribs are obviously shorter than their full-sized counterparts, therefore those front and back rails can be fitted to a twin.
I could be wrong though, there could be one or two random cribs out there that have found a way around this, but in general you won't be able to make that conversion with a full-sized crib.
