Vit. D supplements and upset stomach- PLEASE HELP!!!

Any moms on here given their babies Vit. D and babies have upset stomach? We started it per our pediatrician (he said breasfed babies need Vit. D supplement) last week and thats when DD started being really fussy and having upset stomach. We stopped it went to the Dr. and Dr. thought she has acid reflux and started meds for that on Wed. She has been doing well on the meds since wed so today we gave her the Vit. D again and she is screaming in pain. Anyone else had this problem? Anything I can do to help her upset stomach? We have given gas drops, gripe water and tried rocking, patting and hold and nothing is helping.

She won't stop screaming and cry and I can't stop crying. What can I do for her?

    This was discussed on the Babies 0-3 Months board recently, and most moms agreed the vitamin D supplement upset their babies' tummies. A few moms had a couple of alternative suggestions that they say did not upset their babies tummies, but I can't remember exactly what they were. Browse back maybe a week or so on that board and you should find the thread.

    Our pediatrician gave us a vit D sample for DS and after 1 dosage i stopped. I stopped because I think it is unnecessary, DD didn't use it and she was EBF.

    I haven't used any vitamin d drops yet, but I've heard Carlson brand is better tolerated because the dose is only 1 drop and it doesn't have a bad taste.

    The conversation about this the other day was really informative. I ended up ordering the baby drops on Amazon that you only use one tiny drop. I haven't used it yet, just came today, but I am hoping it works as others said it was so much better. Good luck. Also if you are getting the right nutrients and extra D and nursing she should be ok until 3months without a supplement. That's the info I found online anyway.

    Carlson baby D drops.  Amazing.  One tiny drop that you put on your nipple before a feeding.
