BOB and Snap n Go?

Hi there!  I recently bought the BOB Revolution SE to use as my "do whatever I want" stroller, hehe.  But I was also thinking of getting a Snap & Go for little errands like grocery store, doctors, etc.  What do you ladies think??

Re: BOB and Snap n Go?

  • For me, trying to use the BOB as my everyday stroller once we got out of the SNAP N GO phase didn't work. While a wonderful stroller for jogging, walking, etc, it was too bulky and too heavy for me to use for everyday. Getting it in and out of the car was difficult. It was also very wide and didn't fit well into most stores.

I ended up getting a hefty umbrella stroller (the Aprica Presto Flat) for errands, the mall, etc.

I am fairly confident that I am going to copy you.  Especially for the days when it's too hot (NC) to be in the carseat/SnG and baby is still too young for the BOB.

  • I don't have a BOB but I have a City Mini GT, which I bought as my everything stroller and used the car seat adaptor with when DS was still in his infant car seat.  In retrospect, I wished I had purchased a Snap N Go to use with his car seat.  Attaching it to the GT worked but made it very bulky and always felt a little top heavy.  DS is now 9 months and I just purchased an umbrella stroller for similiar reasons. I LOVE my GT and am so happy with it, but there are some errands (doctor's visits, for example) where I need a stroller (DS is too heavy and squirmy to carry) and the GT is just a little too big.  So, moral of my story - my thinking that there is one go-to stroller for everything did not prove to be true in our case.

  • I have both.  We use the BOB for walks and I'll use it for running when LO is old enough, and the Snap N Go for shopping and errands.  Getting the BOB into the trunk by myself is a giant pain - it's bulky and heavy.  I can easily lift the Snap N Go in and out.  When LO outgrows the Snap N Go, we'll buy an umbrella stroller as a replacement.

This for us too except that I have the uppababy glux for my everyday. It is ultra lightweight. Love it...
  • What I would do is instead of the Snap N Go, get a full featured lightweight stroller than takes an infant carseat.  It'll be more expensive now but then you don't have to get the lightweight one later on after you've already bought the SNG.  Some to consider are the Bumbleride Flite, Cybex Onyx, and Valco Snap.  If you have the Chicco Keyfit car seat you could also consider the Chicco Liteway Plus.

I like this category of strollers because most of them can be used with a newborn if you want to put them straight in the stroller but can also accept a car seat.  It's pretty awesome if you ask me.

  • We had both and loved it.  I like to go for walks on trails, at the beach, etc. and the BOB is perfect for that.  It's also great if you're at the zoo, etc. for a long day.  We used a snap n go for the infant car seat when we just needed to make a quick trip into a store- it was much faster to get in/out of the car and took a lot less room in the trunk.

For us, after DS outgrew the infant car seat I either used an Ergo to carry him or let him ride in the cart if we were at a store.  He wasn't a big fan of riding in strollers once he could sit up on his own and was mobile, so we didn't get much use out of an umbrella stroller after that point.

  • I was wondering the exact same thing, but yesterday while looking at umbrella strollers, I found one, the graco mosaic, that accepts graco snugrides...yay!! Ordered it last night, so we'll have BOB for jogs, walks, outdoors, etc., and the umbrella with the snugride, and eventually without, for smaller spaces, quick errands, and short trips.

If you have a graco snugride (I think any of them will work with it) it would be a great solution...I don't have it yet of course, but the reviews looked great!!

     Good luck :)

This is my plan.  Hopefully it works. :)
