I'm officially 'that' friend...

...That brings her baby everywhere!

My BFF is getting married in Nov and wants me to go to a bridal show all day tomorrow.  I'm still BFing and I highly doubt my boobs can handle going all day (5-7 hours) without nursing/pumping.  So I'm bringing DD.  BFF loves her like her own but still I feel a little weird about it.  Hopefully she is good!

Anyone else feel like you take LO to things that probably aren't 'baby friendly'?

Re: I'm officially 'that' friend...

  • I am that person too. I don't even think about going places unless he can come too. (some friends wanted us to go camping when it started getting cold)

How old is your's? mine is 9 months and is getting to that handful stage. He wants down and wants to stand but of course he can't do it by himself. My boobs can defiantly go that long between feedings and not have to pump. plus if your little one is older than 4 months it might be hard to find a spot quiet enough to get baby to nurse with out being distracted.

I went to one bridal show with my SIL and it was fun. We just walked around. looked at booths for inspiration (i took lots of photos) and watch the fashion show. I don't think we were there that long though

  • Yep. Thats me too. I bring them everywhere with me!
  • Haha don't worry about it, I'm sure it will be fun. I also tote the babe with me everywhere that is longer than 2 hours. Do you have a carrier?

  • DD is 8 months.  I guess I probably could go without pumping but I'm afraid I'll be uncomfortable (and i need my small stash for work). I am planning on taking the stroller and her carrier.  She is usually pretty happy if she can look around at what is going on. BFF said we will probably be there 5 hours or more! YIKES!  I am planning on driving seperatly just in case she gets really fussy.

  • my friends don't even invite me out any longer.

they know the answer is "naptime, breastfeeding, bathtime, rocking".

i am far too obsessed with our schedule to go out.

ugh, i need to get out, though.

also, not gonna lie... she has been to the bar before. NOT the club or anything, but to the sports bar. to watch a steelers game. is it wrong?

Thats awesome, not wrong! I took DD to my sister's bachlorette party (only the out to dinner part not bar part) when she was 7 months.

Nothing wrong with that! My LO has also been to a bar, but when he was much younger and was able to sleep through anything and everything.

OP, I'm with some of the PPs that just don't do anything anymore. I dread messing with his night time schedule, and since his routine begins at 6:30, it limits what we can do.
