  I prefer some of the other spellings I've seen, like Elowen or Elowyn. I'm not sure which is the Welsh way, but I'm sure someone will chime in.

  I think it is pretty spelled as Elowen.
  
  It was one of the featured names in yesterday's Nameberry.com blog about 2013.

  The first thing I thought of was Halloween when I saw this.  I'd say no go, but I do like the nn Elle.

  I see Halloween too for some reason. I think it's prettier spelled Elowen. Or even Elowyn.

  It reminds me of a name that would be used on an elf in rivendale in Lord of the rings. it's definitely different, but not altogether bad. it's nms.

  I think Elowen is gorgeous.  I wouldn't spell it Ellowen or Elowyn, though (neither are recognized spellings).  You can still get the nickname Elle from Elowen.  Don't worry.

  I will say that the El- trend is reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally overdone at this point.
